Trans fluid swap?

So right before christmas I bought a used 02 explorer. Came with 87k. I have done the usual for new vehicles, changed oil, replaced thermostat, complete look over on everything. I am debating doing a trans oil change. I have been reading and its pretty common that my trans doesn't have a high mileage life, and also have heard the rumor for years that changing the fluid can cause problems too. Not to sure since this is my first automatic trans, what are your opinions? I would also like to put some amsoil flush in there prior to draining it.

If a trans fluid change does in the trans .. It was rapidly on the way out anyway.

But sometimes yes..... With a marginal trans with thick crappy dirty fluid l.... It
Works ..... And new, fresh, slippery, detergent fluid reveals issues.

Not changing it is not a solution.

I have an 03 I remember there being a specific procedure to it that seemed like a pita
Most of the shops don't want to drop the pan and just draw it of the tube so I had a coupon for a dealer and they did it.
On a side note one of those SCT reprograms sure makes it shift better.

look up the seriousexplorations.com website for more info on it.

I've never changed auto trans fluid in any vehicle I've ever owned. And I've had only one trans issue with a dodge truck.
