Road ride Saturday 7/2

I'm back from vacation! Who's up for a ride Saturday morning? You guys can do 70, I'll do a 35.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

No idea. I figured Ken or Brian would chime in and lead the ride. If not I've got a route I do near my place in Naperville. Its about 32 miles on an asphalt path.

Tentative plan right now for me. Friday, spin and run. Saturday, 1.5 mile swim downtown and run 10 miles afterwards, starting at 6am. Sunday, possibly Palos with slower riders/chicks, sometime in the AM. Monday, century ride with MSMers around my area. I plan on running all week too.

Ok, Ken is out.

Tom, you're a [email protected] but I think you'd have a hard time keeping up on an MTB. That being said if it doesn't rain I'd be up for making this a KK or SWK ride.

Dean, what do you think?

I dunno, I'm pretty fast on those paved trails. I scare the shit out of kids/parents all the time!

I do not mind the trails as long as they are paved... I can't do crushed stuff with my bike - at least I prefer not to. Don't want to go crazy either with the miles; 30-35 sounds good. I'm going swimming later in the day when I get to the gym.

Tom, think you can keep up with us on paved trails? I think we'll average about 18-19 mph.

Man I don't know ...probably not. Unless of course they start getting real uneven and broken up, then I'll pull you guys right back in

Ok, let's do this tomorrow. There are 3 stoplights that we have to go through, this is a paved running/cycling/walking path. We'll meet at my house and head out. I'll PM you guys my address.

Let's meet at 8:30 and be riding by 8:45. The path is popular with idiot Napervillians so I want to get this ride in before they wake up.

Tom, you can draft behind us.

Dude... you're doing 18-19 on paved trails? I'd be pissed if I was running on those trails.

Sorry I didn't get to you on this. My training is pretty much locked down for the Racine race right now so I haven't bothered to look. I had a 10 mile run Saturday and then 3000m swim workout. I road an easy 56 today, and now it's time to taper! wooooooohoooo!!

You guys should still come out on our Sunday rides. You guys can ride with my wife in the intermediate group!

LOL, people don't even run on these trails, I'm usually the only one running on them. I'm actually riding 20-21mph now, getting a little better.

I'd be up for one of your Sunday rides, next weekend is booked but the weekend after I could join.

BTW, NO ONE showed up on Saturday. Fuggers.

brian is right the bike path is no place to be doing a ride at 20mph, I strictly reserve the path for recovery rides and 30mph intervals like I did today

http://connect.garmin.com/activity/97539932

oh, he was saying that is too fast? none of the runners said anything to me.... oops.
