Brown County 2012

I'd like to do 2 trips this year minimum, spring and fall. I'm starting to get the itch and want to plan the spring run because time flies. Thinking long weekend staying 2 nights, 2+ days of riding, stay in the park at the cabins or closer to town at a hotel. Not interested in camping again . For mdwest mountain biking, this place is Mecca. Who's interested? Potential dates? Would be fun to get a decent group together.

Discuss...

I'm in depending on the dates. I'd probably prefer a couple says during the week. Just want to stay away from my half marathon which is may 6

Potential dates for me would be anything within:

Thurs 4/19 - Sun 4/22
Sat 10/28 - Tues 5/1
Thurs 5/10 - Tues 5/15

Other timeframes could pop up but this is what I can tell for now, through May. Hoping to get down there by then.

So you want to do 2 days of riding right?

Can we leave Wednesday night the 18th. Ride Thursday and Friday and come home Friday night?

I could probably do that

Sounds a little more compressed than i had in mind, but not ruling it out. I really doubt that i would be able to drive down wednesday night because of work.

I'd love to stay out there longer too. But, with my 1/2 marathon in early May and having to work the Sunday rides for LTF I kinda need to be back for the weekend to get that long run on Saturday before the LTF ride on Sunday. Later in the summer, after Racine, I could probably do something longer. But that's what I can do right now. LMK

The 21st and 22nd of April doesn't work for me, that is the weekend of the state swim meet. Amy other dates you would consider?

Ok so its looking like Saturday May 12th through Monday May 14th are the dates. Probably leave early saturday morning, most likely coming back sometime Monday. Depending on how many go or are interested we could get a cabin in the park. Nearby Nashville would be a cool place to stay too.

But my shedule was even in the dates you gave and was "compressed" even though the dates you had in mind were the same amount of time??????

I just calls em like I sees em! lol

I gotta wait till tomorrow to see if I can get that Monday off. Don't think it's a problem though. When we make the schedule for LTF rides I'll make sure I'm not working the ride that Sunday. I'll Make an attempt to accommodate you Kevin!!! Lol

BC might be kinda far for a day trip. I'm talkin' maybe Logansport or Kettle, or somewhere down southern Il.

Peoria has some great trails. The PAMBA series is a good one to do a few races with also. The BEST trails that are raced around this area IMO.

You have thursday off you said? I'll keep an eye on the weather the next couple weeks and see if we can get this in. I'll call or shoot you a text if this works. I'd like to get some more time on my new mtb so I can get the itch to start upgrading!

Ken, that was kinda what I had in mind is finding some of those trails the PAMBA races are on. Can you give yourself the day off and come with?

I'll keep checking this thread, but usually this time of year I am royally hosed. An entire day off is nearly impossible unless I don't want to see my kid for a couple weeks. Sunday is our only day together usually, but we'll see.

Brian, make sure to text me with as much advanced notice as possible so I can prepare/clear my schedule.

Ken you can monday morning off and work from 1pm to 10pm, suck it up man. Just kidding but hopefully you can make it sometime. Too bad BC isn't closer, the one in Indiana or Canadia.
