Not sure, bunch of events on that date I'm considering. Wouldn't mind doing the race with my kid as a team.

Ya I'm in. 24 miles killed me last time though. I had a really good ride at Palos on Sat and SWK on Sunday. How did you do at KM on Sat?

That 12 miler sounds about right to me.

You'll be fine! I had a good ride. Although every time I get back from Kettle I find myself online looking for deals on FS frames. It's a bumpy ride for sure.

Line selection there is critical on a hardtail. I never go out alone without a tube and pump either.

Yep always have two tubes and a pump in my camelbak. I really need to pick up some master links to have as spares. Got a chain tool incorporated in the multi-tool I carry although I don't know how well it works to be honest. Looks a little on the cheap side.

I've ridden 30 miles the past 2 weekends I've been there but it would be nice if it was still daylight when I finished my race

Those SRAM quick links work well for that.

Looks like early registration ends 9/12(save $10). Going to sign up here soon once I figure out what distance I want to do(12 or 22 miles). Thinking the 22 miler even though I know I'll be bringing up the rear. But I know that's not important, I'm going for experience...and of course the beer.

OK, I have signed up for the 22 miler.

May not be the smartest move, as this week I spent most of the weekend on the couch with a head cold and couching.

I just called the hotline and the message stated to call back in the morning before heading up just to make sure the race isn't cancelled. Trails are closed right now from the rain.
