Palos this weekend?

Anyone going? I need to finish destroying my 3 month old components to buy new ones. Probably be there sat and sun in the middle am. I usually park by cemetary hill, hit that, the yellow single track down to the orange loop and back up yellow singletrack. Look for the pimp fat guy on a blue squeaky cannondale.

I'll be at the WORS race in Lake Geneva. This course simply rocks. Tons of fun.

Oh, that looks like fun. Do you race sport or comp2 Ken? I may head up and do this. What is the trail difficulty like compared to Palos?

I race Comp. It's a blast for real. I think they dumb down the course for the slower guys, but not much, I think they cut out the rock garden and some of the bigger hills, but it's still challenging. Similar to Palos in difficulty.

I'll be out of town this weekend otherwise I'd go. If you have any interest in hitting Saw Wee Kee in Oswego I'm out there 2 to 3 times a week after work.

Yeah, I"m actually closer to Saw Wee Kee. I'm not the biggest fan of tight technical tracks, but I love to ride. We can set something up for next week.

You're in good hands if you go with Chuck. Look for the late model camry backed in in the maple lake east parking lot at Palos. 7'3" elderly looking fellow with huge sausage fingers. Can't miss him!

I'd join you this weekend but I'll be out of town as well. Have you been to Kettle yet? I may try and get up there the following weekend before the Fall Color Festival race.

Sounds good! SWK is technical but once you get a rythem there it's a lot of fun. I prefer Palos but SWK is just so close it's hard to ignore especially during the week. I get back next Wednesday morning so anytime after that is good for me.

I traded the camry in on a new Honda Fit.

Awesome, that race looks like it'll be a lot of fun.

As for Kettle, I'll post something up next week as we get closer, see who's interested and what day/time works best for everyone.

I've never been to Kettle, I definately want to check it out.

I'm on the fence with the WORS race, if my family goes to the lake, I probably won't go. The race looks fun as hell though.

Was at Kettle today. Did the blue loop. Friend just got clipless pedals and spent most the time holding a tree trying to figure out how to get his shoes clipped in. He can be annoying to ride with. Rides in granny gear most the time and holds you up on hills.

Around mile marker 8.5 my leg started cramping at the knee. Made it not so fun anymore. Also having issues with the bike in a certain rear sprocket it jumps. But hey, its a 16 yr old Rockhopper.

I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested.

This is not what I want to hear right before my race today. Low FTP talk.

"I felt strong, faster than I ever have been, left all my friends in the dust and dropped them like an anchor. At about the 50 mile mark, I thought I was getting tired, but I looked at my Garmin and I was still pushing 300 watts. Towards the finish I gave a little sprint, and then ripped my cranks completely off my bike. It was a good day."

That's what I want to hear!
