I'll be there for one race on Saturday and two on Sunday. I also have the Garmin course maps out on my garmin page if you want to see it. Apparently there is a good hill for the FRG crit and we are riding the course tomorrow evening.

Not the best game plan for a crit I would have to agree. Unless I shit myself while pulling everybody along. That would clear the field.

Race Report

Cat 5A

All started well. Havoc in the cork screw(kinda like turn 3 at grattan). Niggas was crashing and all over the place. Settled in and somewhere at mid point the shit head in front of the shit head whose wheel I was riding let a gap form and I didn't realize it as I was too busy huffin and puffin. The rest of the race was us 3 taking turns pulling. Last lap I was second wheel in our chase group and the 9ft tall buck 30 pound shit head #2 takes off and I chase after him. Come out of his draft too late and he beats me to the line by a wheel.

Cat5 B

Lined up towards the middle. Grabbed a wheel and was comfortable. Havoc in the cork screw again. A non bike handling shit head clips his pedal on the curb and everyone checks the fuck up and with the aid of my superior ninja like reflexes, I do a rolling endo and maneuver away and like a complete 100% badass I bridge the gap to the lead group. I stay there and position myself in about 8th. At the end of the 2nd to last lap, Havoc in the corkscrew again. Butthole breath in front of me checks up gets squirrelly at the exit of the turn and collects my front wheel. I'm on the ground at 30mph and sliding toward the curb. 1 cracked top tube, 1 abraided ass nigga, 1 ripped bibs, 1 ripped jersey, and 1 angry ripped nigga ready to kill someone. I did the walk of shame to the start, threw my bike in the grass and made a bee line for the nurse tent and got my shit scrubbed of gravel. Fun. Can't wait for the next one.

Elgin 5A race
Well what can I say; I got up at just after 5:30 am to get ready for my 8am race. Let’s just say that I did not leave the house on time as I got to the race with about 45 minutes to spare and still had to get my number and all that good shit. Made it around for two laps of the course and gridded up towards the back of field as was not feeling it at all. It was just myself and my teammate Gary in this race. Whistle blows and we are off, around the first two corners, I move up towards the front on the outside of the group. Get to want I call the reverse Laguna cork screw (go uphill) and a crash happens right at apex of the second turn, I do everything I can not to run his head over by going left but someone is right there to my left as he’s rolling on the ground. Got slowed down to avoid it and took off the pedal after the pack but by this time my legs said F YOU I’m not going to work, I don’t care what your brain says.. Well I ended up getting back up to the last group pack and the field had spread out be now and I did not have it in me to pedal harder. Ended up pedaling with Brian’s friend Peter as I pull him up the front finish line area and he would pull me up the backside of the course. Like all good things they must come to an end and we got pulled from the course even though I do not think close to getting lapped but I did beat Peter to the line and my teammate was only a place or two ahead of me. Wanted to stay around to try and do the 11 am race but had to get son to soccer game, as wife had to take off to do hair for a wedding we were going to later that evening. Placed 24 out of 33

FRG
Race 1 the Cat 5 – 20 minutes
I really need to start getting to these things earlier  as I showed up with about a 1:15 the spare. We pre-rode the course on Tuesday and I knew the hill was going to get me. Felt OK as I did a warm lap or two to get the heart rate up there a little bit, but the hill was going to get me in the race, just was not sure how bad. Whistler blows and we are off and up the hill we go and I am still with the lead pack but it was being strung out from the get go. Lap two and I still in with the second group of people, third lap rolls around and I’m about well-done going up the hill, my sub brain is telling me to get off an walk the Fing hill just to catch my breath, holly hell and I still had three more laps to go. I never did walk the hill but I sure wanted too a few time. I pass a few rides on the hill and am passed as well. I the end it wasn’t till I looked at the data once home that I needed more gear to pedal up that hill. In small ring and large in back cadence dropped to 60 which is not good for going up the hill. I will have to count the rear cassette one day. The course was 2/3 thirds downhill and rest up hill. The down hills I bombed them and was loving it, fast with high corner speeds reminds me of race racing motorcycles and a chance to catch your breath, only to know the hill was coming up a gain. Did not get lapped in this race nor pulled. Placed 22 out of 43

Race 2 Master 30 plus Cat 4/5 – 25 minutes
I’m the only idiot from my team that signed up to do two races and knowing the suffering I had in race one, why would I do another one. WTF was I thinking and this one is 5 minutes longer...
This race was much the same as first one but I did 7 laps or 7 times up that fucking hill and not 6 like race before. Suffering up the hill and bombing the backside, only difference is I went 1.7 mph faster in top speed down the hills and thought the corners. I did have the rear wheel step out a bit on one corner, don’t know if I rolled over a rock or something else but that was kind of fun. I ended up being lapped but only by the last ten feet to the line and I still had the go around to finish my lap for which I was thinking oh shit [email protected], here comes the hill again..LOL In the end I finished race two in 26th overall out of 47 and 5th of 12 of the cat 5 peeps in the race

Data in order
