AMA Vintage Days July 9 -11

The annual AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days are scheduled for less than 3 weeks from now at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car course in Lexington Ohio, just outside Mansfield. The event features 3 days of vintage racing that are the AMA Vintage Grand Championships in Hare Scrambles, Vintage flat track, Vintage MX, Post Vintage MX, Observed Trials and 2 full days of vintage Road racing with a day of practice for road racers on Friday the 9th. (The racing is not is run under supplemental AMA rules available for download at Pre entries for the racing close on July 2.
Some of you racers here on CLSB that experienced vintage racing at Road America 2 weeks ago may find this event to be a great time!
In addition to the racing activity there will be an enormous swapmeet, demo rides from Yamaha, Triumph and other manufacturers and host of other activities.
There will also be the Grand opening of the new exhibits at the American Motorcycle Heritage Foundation Museum and Hall of Fame at the AMA headquarters in Pickerington (Columbus) about 30 minutes south of Mansfield.
Proceeds from this event fund the AMHF Museum and Hall of Fame.
Racing icon and star of "On Any Sunday" Malcom Smith will be the events Grand Marshal and the featured marque is Husqvarna.
If any CLSB people attend, racer or not, I want to hear your thoughts, positive or negative. We (the AMA) can only improve this event by hearing what attendees and members think.
Hope to see some of you there!

"Dirt is for racing on...Asphalt is for getting there" OR "Flat trackers go in deeper and come out harder... OR (With apologies to General MaCarthur) "Old motorcycle racers never die, they just slip off the groove and fade into the dust!

If you want to anger a conservative, tell him a lie. To anger a liberal all one must do is tell the truth!
