XS650 bobber "Murphy's Law"

Picked up a XS650 this summer that was a abandoned bobber project basket case thinking it would be a fairly easy build as all the major components were there. Then Murphy's Law stepped in (as well as previous owners who shouldn't be touching motorcycles), I pretty much have it all ironed out now but it took a while to get there. It is up and running and road worthy now (got about 100 miles on it) still have some things I want to change around, however they will have to wait till the snow hits the ground. Just been enjoying it and figuring out what I want to change and improve with the setup when the time comes.

Thanks for the compliments!

Tough to say how much time invested, quite a bit. Next build will hopefully consist of a stock bike that is together and something I can get to run and drive before building it. When I got this one it was all disassembled, and as I put it together I started chasing problems. Rebuilt the carbs, adjusted the valves and reset cam chain tensioner, rewired the bike with custom harness, replaced the stock ignition system, replaced the clutch, rebuilt the front caliper and replaced the master, then chased my tail with the ignition again as the new one I installed had a bad solder joint on it to cause intermittent spark.

Money haha same situation haven't kept count. One of these days I will try and figure it out. Replaced a lot of items, new tires, battery box, fuse box, ignition switch, wiring harness, ignition system and cam advance unit and rod assy, seat, brake line, throttle and clutch cable, steering stem bearings, several gaskets and seals, headlight assy, chain and ?? I am sure there is more just can't think of it off the top of my head.

On a positive note the bike has been thoroughly gone though and there is not much more to replace.
