Wiring hints/advice?

What better way to burn a cold Friday evening than wiring a '77 cb750?

Buddy has a K model that's a borderline snotter. We took a trip a while ago, and of course his harness fried when we got to our destination. Wires might have been cut when taking the tank on and off that caused a nice electrical storm. Blue smoke everywhere.
Anyway we got a diagram off of Oregon motorcycle parts' website, and we're gonna try to only do the essentials (headlight, taillight, starter, ignition, reg/rec, coil).

Any hints/tricks/tips would be helpful and appreciated.

Resistance in the R/R plug.

That thing is a heat sync ( that's what the fins are for) It's not doing it's job ,as seen in the wires.

Gus
We offer three kinds of service @ Resurrection
GOOD - CHEAP - FAST
You can pick any two
GOOD service CHEAP won't be FAST
GOOD service FAST won't be CHEAP
FAST service CHEAP won't be GOOD
and cold beer.

I'd love to help but I don't chase parts.
Please contact other forum members and supporters for parts.

I figured this is where the problem started. Replace the reg/rec with a new single unit and problem solved, yeah?
