Me thinks it needs a *much* bigger gas tank.

Neat idea though.

you could build 3.5 harley engines from that, the firing order would even match a factory motor

Only problem is you guys put this in the wrong forum. The bikes nor the motor are vintage. The engine is at least a vintage design but then again so is just about every motor.

“The shapes and beauty of the motor are very important to me. Older bikes have beauty. Modern bikes…I don’t have any favorite shapes.”

Now we need the Motorcycles with Airplane Engines Forum.

Then I can finally have posts about motorcycles.

Clever and innovative, an engineering and asthetic work of art (both of the bikes pictured)...but blasphemous from an airplane enthusiasts point of view...radial engines are meant to FLY!

not according to harley, they essentially cut a 2 cylinder section out of one and call it a motorcycle engine

If you were to take the HD engine and continue around, it could not make a radial engine...The cylinders are placed too close to each other and the stroke is too short...according to some engineers, the HD engine shouldn't run at all...goes to show you what a waste engineering school can be.
