36th Annual MACMC Bike Show

This post could have been in any number of forums, but because it's about an Antique Classic MC Show...I decided this was the best forum for it.

The Midwest Antique and Classic Motorcycle Club will be having their 36th annual Show on Sunday, September 28, 2008 from 8AM to 4PM at the Boone County Fairgrounds in Belvidere IL.
This is the 4th year that this show will be held in Belvidere. It was previously held at the McHenry County Fairgrounds in Woodstock for 32 years and was the biggest event of its kind in Chicagoland.
Since moving to Belvidere, the show and swap has shrunk some, but the members of MACMC are working diligently to re grow this show and swap back to its previous stature. This was and is nationally renowned and back in the day, Steve McQueen was an attendee before his death.
As of now I plan to ride one of my '67 Triumphs and enter the show. I plan to stop for breakfast and launch early...not necessarily in that order...anyone who would like to have breakfast and ride with me would be welcome. My plans are not set and I am open to suggestion, so post or PM me. When my plans are firm, I'll post them here.

I will try to make it out. No ride for me. Thanks for the notice.

That's the way I would go If I was starting from Aurora. I'm launching from the NW side of the city and wll use 90 to get to about Barrington Road and jump over to 72 to the 72/47/US20 junction and take US 20 from there. Not too many twists...but it's 2 lane and not Superslab! I might also take in the Stock car races at Rockford after I do the bike show, in which case I will take Main Street (ILRt. 2) to Byron and take 72 home.

Got to see a lot of cool bikes today. Some great Panheads out there.

John went... I was busy unpacking the office. Heard all of the 'regulars' were there, including a Pan that he had restored for some guy. I'm sorry I missed it!
