1977 kz1000

I'm thinking maybe this should be in the for sale forum.

But this bike also has enough old school cool to be an open topic.

This bike runs BUT ofcourse it's 30 yrs old and is not a new bike.
It has some chrome and over flowing carbs .

This bike is an old school hot rod that could be all that the price is very negotiable at $1500

These bikes made Mad Max the hit it was.

lol a KZ900 was my second bike after my H2. It was the fist time I broke a ton fifty. That was flying for the day. Cool ride.

funny boy.

The first time I really tried to do a top speed run, I topped the speedo out a 158 indicated. No fairing, lying flat on the tank with my feet on the rear pegs. The old pavement shaking Hooker header was bellowing away. I really remember going OHHH SHITTT with a wicked grin. What a 70s buzz that was.

I hope I did not miss lead but you'll note in my first post I said overflowing carbs and such,This bike also needs What I believe to be a bad head gasket replaced.

It's not ready for any test drives .A good running version of this bike will cost more then twice the asking price.

I will how ever be very willing to work with you on these items at cost.

It is a chronic problem with this generation normally caused by too much back pressure from the ElCrapo exhaust. It is a pretty easy fix.

Just watched the "Twist the Throttle" last night on this bike - Revolutionary in it's day to say the least

"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming WOW, what a RIDE !!"

this bike will be my next project if it's not bought up .

I believe I've seen many KZ 900 and 1000's in much worse condition sell for twice as much.

It's funny because from my perspective (fixxing many heads and gaskets) this bike is worth 3 times what a rusty runner might be worth.

This bike is worth every penny of $1500.But I can understand somones concern for these issues.

Maybe this would be good learing for young Nick.
He may have a head gasket project in front of him .If you see it at bike night make him an offer.(bring lots of money)

Those late '70 KZ's are VERY cool bikes. One of the best looking from that era and a head gasket is not a big deal and shouldn't scare anyone away. Overflowing carbs is just a float adjustment.

You should post big pics Gus. I don't think a lot of people know how cool this bike is.

If its still around in a week or two, I might have to come rescue it.

Eric
