Hmmm, what the fuck do do I know. I live in the burbs and drink PBR by the case. But, if I was gonna go downtown to enjoy the finer side of head nodding, I would check out....

The lounge at Japonais. Downstairs, great style, right on the river with a huge patio for when the weather warms up.

BeviAmo wine bar. Good DJ's and wine/martini specials that bring in dah womenz.

I always had a good time at Darkroom, but I haven't been there in a few years. But definitely worth checking out.

I think Nola's closed.

Japonais is a good hang out. Can I join you on that PBR?

You better be nice to America or we will bring democracy to your country.

I don't think Japonais serves PBR. If they do we can get a few people together and see if we can clean them out too. Saddle Up and Brickhouse didn't fair so well.

There are always cold ones out here in A-town tho.

nice taste in music. i'll preface this by saying i'm no longer a city-dweller, so i'm kind of out of the loop on these things.

off-hand i can't think of any bars or lounges that are 100% dedicated to trip-hop/trance/ambient. places like smart bar and darkroom will have random djs that might suit your taste. you just gotta check their nightly line-ups.

however, i can suggest iguana cafe on halsted/grand/milwaukee. not a club, but it's very euro with an chill atmosphere. they have a full bar, awesome food (crepes!!!), and they usually play music along those lines of what you are looking for.

lol. sadly, megan "retired" from bartending a couple years ago. if anyone wants to see her they'll have to go to an office building, which is decidedly less fun.

Love all that shit! Unfortunately the place i used to go to listen to a lot of that was Bungalow on Belmont but I'm pretty certain it's closed down. Sorry my post is about as worthless as everyone's else here. You should probably ask Bug. He's up on those tunes and the places to go. If not there's always Groove Salad radio.
