it didnt stand the test of time, when you hear it it sounds dated. Sounds like early 90s.

Damn I wanna just go nuts when I hear it - To this day, one of the best shows I have ever somewhat seen (trippin ballz on schrooms) is when these guys played with Primus in '91

I beg to differ - SKA has a Horn Section - No Doubt was SoCal Rock that the record companies got a hold of and turned mainstream - Same can be said for Blink182 - GreenDay - SugurRay - All were hard core but sold out for mellow music that paid

And Darrude did the exact opposite for Trance - If anything, "Sandsotrm" got more people listening to Trance - Plus, I would Call Darude More Electronic then Trance

No Doubt did use horns, but I guess I should have been clearer. By "killed it" I meant "sold out". Ruined it for everyone who appreciated the true sound of the genra. Darude did the same. Made the sound pop, and fostered a bunch of other equally awful wanna-be's. I concede to your classification of Darude, I didn't listen to it so I wouldn't really know.

Side note... I like No Doubt.

How can I start a SKA thread without the KF Monkeys?

Love these freaks and this cover (Better than Real Big Fish too)

I bar-tended at the State theater where they played and got to hang with them before the show - Chatted with the lead singer and bass player (smoked with them is more like it) and we laughed about Central Cali being a no mans land - The showtime came and dude came to my Bar TRIPPPIN - Had no idea who I was or where he was - Bass player had to walk him around and all he wanted was Orange Juice

Bradley Nowell wrote that song. It put Sublime on the charts.

Indeed he and it did - Would beg to differ on the Charts thing though - I think it was released after their Debut which he of course died before - Date Rape was recorded earlier but released later - If Mem serves

Date rape recieved heavy play on KROQ in LA back in '94. By charts, I meant more of a it opened the door for them type of deal. I really like the Long Beach Dub Allstars too. They have a great sound, it's the band that formed after Sublime.
