Female Vocalists

Found an Old 10K maniacs CD I forgot I had from College which lead me down the path of more Female Artist - Use to always groove to these 3......

Powerful Lyrics

wanted to marry this chick in College

and IMHO, one of the greatest female vocalist of ALL TIME - Her voice gives me goose bumps.....in a good way - That and Iggy Rules

"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming WOW, what a RIDE !!"

Love love LOVE Candy. I have the cassette single and I am not embarrassed to say I still pull it out from time to time. Great tune.

And all joking aside, I have always loved the Indigo Girls really for the sheer awesomeness of their voices. They kept me awake on many a road trip in my 20s and were the soundtrack to some incredible drives, most notably the entire summer I lived in Glacier Park.

Other ladies I love (in a musical sense...):
-Alison Krauss
-Tracy Chapman (I'm sorry but I can not get sick of "Fast Car")
-Liz Phair
-And I can't forget Ani DiFranco who had the girl power song of my college years with Little Plastic Castle. I still remember skipping down Green St on my 21st birthday singing "leather bras and rubber shorts!" with my roommies.

GOOD POST, BUG!

I've developed an unhealthy obsession with Alison Mosshart from The Kills and The Dead Weather

and anyone that hasn't heard of Company of Thieves I suggest seeing them the next time they are home. I don't care if you don't like the genre Genevieve Schatz's energy is contagious.

I'm sure I'm going to come up with some more as the day passes.

America is like the girl that keeps getting back together with that abusive moron everyone hates

It's ok. Moyet's good, too. And it reminds me just how many cool "Alison"s with one L are out there
