George Harrison - Faster

From Chip Hennan on facebook (Pat Hennan's brother - Pat Hennan was the first American to win a 500cc GP and if not for a head injury at the Isle of Man, very well might have been the first World Champion instead of KR).

George Harrison loved both car and motorcycle racing and did a lot to help promote both. He and his wife threw the victory party for my brother when he won the British GP at Silverstone in 1977, a party I'll never forget. He attended a couple of other GPs that year and always hung out in the pits with Suzuki's GP team because he was close friends wtih Barry Sheene. At the French GP, in the Paul Ricard area, he stayed at the same hotel we stayed in, a small hotel on the ocean in a small bay. Ringo Starr came up from Monaco to see Harrison and they had dinner with everyone at the hotel. That night, at about 11:00 p.m. when everyone was in bed trying to get a good night's sleep, we were awaken to the sound of Harrison and Starr singing a very rude version of Hey Jude on the beach below us. They had had a fair amount to drink that evening, and I can remember my thinking that no one back home would believe what we were hearing. One of my most memorable experiences during my years on the GP circuit.

If you ain't with us, then it's just bad news.
