Your Funeral Song

Had this discussion over dinner last night - If at your funeral, you could play one song for your family and friends to remember you by (keep in mind, your parents, siblings, co-workers loved ones etc etc) while they sat and remembered you to, what would it be? - Now I know we will get the "I fuckin rock and want AC/DC or Metalica Playing" type of responses and if that is true, then sobeit - But in all seriousness, what would you pick to represent you? - How you will be remembered (not that your funeral will be their only memory) from that day?

We discussed sad and down trodden to fit the mood - We discussed upbeat make it a party type shit too - My question is, YOU, what would you look down (or up for most if us) and see playing and smile with a "Fuck YES" type of grin

Oh, sidebar - This convo led to a pack between me and a buddy - Whoever dies first, the other has to drive the hearse and find a route that includes Hwy - Once on said Hwy, hall fuckin ass and watch the rest of the precession try and keep up - Classic site to see a Hearse and 50 cars fly by you on the Hwy at 110 mph while weaving thru traffic

Anyhow, I settled on this as I dig the beat, the build and the message

Massive Attack - "Angel" - Even the Vid is fitting

My final song I want would be the full version of The doors- The end.

The End - Nice Touch - Full Version has Jim Morrison saying he wants to fuck his mother though - Is that what you want people to remember?

Remember, they will be seated and listening to the entire song - This is what made our convo keep moving

I think the people in my life that TRULY know me would agree to this song. Lee Greenwod's "God Bless the USA".

God Bless the U.S.A.

Other than that, I want the song "Memories" played, but it has to be the recording of my brother singing it. He passed away from Menengitis in 1990 only months after professionaly recording it for my Mom and Dad.

That a tough question actually. Hard to this of just one song to represent who/what you are.

Sorry to hear of your Bro my man and that was the whole debate of the Convo to try and find "one" that fits - We had (2) waitress join in as well - Pretty wild responses from Beethoven to Meatloaf

Everlong is the first thing that comes to mind, but probably not appropriate for a funeral.
Pearl Jam, Given To Fly, Off He Goes, and Nothingman would be better. But probably for them the most appropriate would be Willy Porter - Unconditional

I have another song in mind, but the entire song isn't fitting. This lyric is what really hits home with me:

art is why I get up in the morning
but my definition ends there
and it doesn't seem fair
that I'm living for something I can't even define
there you are right there
in the meantime

I don't want to play for you anymore
show me what you can do
tell me what are you here for
I want my old friends
I want my old face
I want my old mind
fuck this time and place

I don't ride, I cook!
