Best Album Nobody Has Heard Of.

Just a thread to post an album you like or what you think is a particular band's best work that often gets overlooked.

An example would be the Rolling Stones: Let It Bleed. People like to say Exile On Main Street or Beggar's Banquet is their best work.

My choice would be Nilsson Schmilsson a great album that really shows the art of a song writer.

Dude, Let it Bleed is "overlooked"???!!! Me thinks not.

Cry of Love - Brother
- fantastic album, one of my favorites. Peace Pipe was a minor hit in the 90s. Audley Freed, their guitar player, went on to play for the Black Crows.

Savoy Brown - Lookin' In/Street Corner Talkin'
-The original band that became "Foghat". Awesome stuff.

Johnny Winter - Saints & Sinners and others
-The best blues guitar player ever, and one of the greatest period.

Oh yeah, and Cactus/Vanilla Fudge. Tim Bogert, Carmin Appice...killer rock that not many know of.

You brought that to my attention in another thread. I was like wow! a person who would take Let it Bleed over other Stones' albums. It was just a quick example.

Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys Brian Wilson in all is beautiful madness. By no means critically overlooked but Man people now just know them for fun surfing bubblegum and Kokomo.

Shad will agree with me on this one:

- Failure - "Fantastic Planet"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Failure_(band)

- Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - "B.R.M.C"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B.R.M.C._(album)

"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming WOW, what a RIDE !!"

Oh yeah, Let it Bleed and Get yer Ya-Yas Out.

Pet Sounds is AMAZING. People have no idea how much the Beach Boys changed rock. There's a reason no covers them. Impossible to match those harmonies.

I really wanted to start a thread where you could not post that album.
