Control - Joy Division - The Movie

COMPLETELY forgot about this movie and caught it last night - WOW - Brilliantly played by Sam Riley as Ian Curtis and the other (3) members were spot on as well

He is definitely one of those guys (like my boy from Material Issue) that I always wonder "what if...." - Sure New Order was a smash but it was not Joy Division - I also forgot how Ian came up with the name for the band - Classic

Look how well Sam Riley plays Ian Curtis - Scary Good

Oh and I never forgave Trent for re-doing such a classic JD song

The above is from the movie and you can see how Sam plays Ian

Now watch Ian - Scary

I like to listen to Joy Division on bright sunny days, is that morbid?

That's a great movie.
Just bought a Joy Division import with a bunch of Hannett's private outtakes of different sounds/songs on it. Pretty good for a listen.

I had heard that his widow wasn't happy with it, I've yet to see it but have been meaning to.

She is listed as an EP on the film and it is based off her book about Ian and their Marriage

Does not mean she is not happy with it - Even Johnny Rotten thought Sid & Nancy was shit and EP titles are given out like candy these days and sometimes are merely a pay grade - I was just going off the credits as I was so floored after the movie that yes, I sat and watched the credits

This song still makes me stand still and think about what was going through his head when he wrote this - I may have to order the movie up on demand and watch it again tonight
