Buying transponders

just me being opinionated again, nothing to see here:
http://www.ccsforum.com/index.php/topic,25751.0.html

i'm just givin' you guys a heads up, i guess we should keep our discussion in the CCS thread so they can see it. it's ironic that "because who wins does matter" is their catch phrase, because apparently, it doesn't mean shit.

You do realise that myracebio.com isnt run or updated by CCS? A CCS racer setup and updates the site in his free time.

BTW I hearing CCS is looking at new transponders that hold a charge for 3yrs and cost $80 and are about 1/3 the size of the current ones.

Would be nice if they went ABM (like what WERA uses), but those transponders are more $$$ than the ones we have now and you have to buy them yourselves. ANd to think we didnt have transponders until 2003. It was all manual scoring. You wanted lap times either you had someone with a stopwatch or you used a mycron onbike timer (BTW I got a lap time at BHF of 0:45 on it once.

BTW hows the hand?

I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested.

greeny, are you advocating that we go out adn buy our own transponders?
if so... thanks for adding another $300 expense on top of what it already costs me to get out there

I like the loaner transponder wether it gets up onto the racingbio site or not

I'd buy one... not that I'd want to. It surprises me that they cost $300 or whatever, $80 would be a lot more reasonable.

yea i know, and that's why i think no one bitches about how much it sucks. i'd rather pay for a good service than get a crappy one for free. just my opinion... but having a reliable, accurate history of my racing progress would be pretty cool.

broke my wrist in a couple places and it's gonna be cast for at least 6 more weeks. just had my first checkup after the initial xrays today and the doc is pretty confident that surgery isn't gonna be needed, so that's good. thanks for asking!

ccs proposed it, i'm just giving my own reasons for supporting it. if they do it like wera does, transponders can be rented as well.

Not so much fast as much as you need to have balls...something I have plenty of. You've ridden with me on the track one time at the beginning of the season last year on my first time out on a wet track. Of course I was slow then. How about manning the fuck up and getting a race license and race against me? If you place ahead of me then you can talk all the shit you want. I placed last on my first race if that's any incentive for you to grid up. But until then, STFU.

Sorry, was suppose to be a simple one liner. Didn't mean to corrupt the thread. E, you ride great. Hell, I still haven't done a track day yet this year.

Also, I'm on some decent meds. I first read this as buying "transformers".

The GPX people do that all the time, get on the program... we like bigger screens...

And Jordan, yes it would be better, but again, it just cost's money that could pay of a set of tires.
All that really matters is who crosses the line first. ( says the slow and fat guy, running in the cherry picker class...)

no, the biggest question is whether they will refund my money for the current transponder pouch ... I ,in fact, was saving on lunches to buy that one .

true. I didn't use my lap timer the last few times as a lap timer, more as a graph for where I accelerate or decelerate.

Look at Ed key, he only goes as fast as he has to.
