The Putnam date was going to be in conjunction with the MCRA. So, are the Gateway dates. I haven't heard if they will go through yet

Oh is that how they do it? Mine are probably from the same then, I guess I thought when they said they would credit me that it would just be a refund to the CC

The midwest CCS schedule blows. I'm disappointed. The year I decide to commit to a whole season the schedule sucks ass. I might go run WERA instead. More tracks.

You gota love BFR if your a midwesterner. I hope WERA and CCS don't have dates that cross. Last year the conflict was Grattan vs BFR .... I reallly wanted to race Grattan last year.

In 2010 CCS and MCRA did 3-4 weekends together at Gateway. Track days on Saturday and races on Sundays. I'm not sure what they have in mind for next year though.

We're doing the Team Challenge/ASRA dates. Lots of other tracks, although we still have to go to BHF twice. Still... going to CMP, Roebling, VIR, Summit, etc. is better than BHF all year. Meh.

Are you surprised? The schedule has been 4-5 BHF dates with a round at HPT and RA for *years*. I don't know why anyone is disappointed or surprised every time the schedule comes out. It's like living in WI and bitching about the snow.

Don't like it? Do something different. The BHF are the best attended events on the MW schedule. People voted 10 years ago by never showing up to Gingerman rounds and ACC is too expensive.

I have. I was also on their Board of Directors for the 2012 season.
They have two races each day. The morning race is AM/EX GT Unlimited. The afternoon race is AM/EX GTL Unlimited and their beginner class, Sportsman. Next year they're adding a 250 class

Dunno about heartland on a bike, but gateway can end your riding right quick and in a hurry.

I don't think it's that bad. It has the potential to be pretty awful if you crash in the wrong place, just ask Brian Hall, but I don't think it's excessively dangerous? The changes the AMA made them make helped some. Heading down the front straight and aiming for the end of a wall is a little unnerving at first. There are walls. Some areas don't have great runoff. The grass is pretty rutted and rough in places if you go off. There's a dip in T4 that catches people out.

Otherwise, I think it's a really fun track. Lots of variety, a little bit of elevation change, lots of turns so it takes a little time to learn it. And best of all, it's not Blackhawk.

Another downside/potential upside is that the grids are pretty small. It's also a twin sprint weekend so you can get a good head start on points because not everyone from the Midwest goes.

I'm pretty sure Jesse James stole your trophy. He said something about running away with it to Mexico.

If Midwest Safety Crew isn't at HPT, then neither am I.
Last year at Gateway there were very few transports. Two were serious. But, at Gateway both medical units are ALS and are transport capable. So, if you do need to go to the hospital you're only 15-20 away.

I raced there in 03 at the 2nd race weekend there for CCS. At the first one, one guy ended up hitting the wall going on the front straight. Missed the hay bays completely. Really got screwed up bad. Had to stop racing for good since, from what I was told, another crash could paralyse him. In the thunderbike race going into 1, seen a sv 6' up caught in the chain link fence. Personally I dont think bikes should ever race there unless they do something with the transition on the last "turn".

I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested.

aw, quit yer bitchin. You're lucky they'll even have you.

So, why the full season this year? I saw some of your posts over on the CCS forum and figured as much. Those 12's kve ran last year inspire you?

Look forward to seeing you there.
