Techincally i took 2 regional championships, HWSS and HWSB and 3 BHF track championships HWSS, HWSB, and UNLGP.
I started out the season with no expectations. i thought i would have some fun to try racing and see how i stacked up against the others in CCS. It went well from the beginning I finished off of the podium twice all year with a crash and a jump start penalty. I never planned on chasing championships and didnt make it to all the rounds this season, i took off both rounds at heartland and both of them were twin sprints.
Im proud of what i could accomplish this year and like to think that i did it my way. Racing is expensive, anyone who competes knows what im talking about. I ran my whole season on a shoestring budget. The season was run on my trusty old trackday bikes 04 and 05 GSXR 750's and every round they had some sweet takeoffs mounted up on them. Thanks to Ron Hix for supplying the bulk of my rubber this season at great prices. Most of you have seen my rig, its a 96 silverado (now deceased) pulling an open 5x7 trailer. I had it loaded for battle on all the weekends i could make it to. I knew i wanted to be racing and made the financial commitments i needed to for that but i am also saving for a house, and got engaged a month ago. so needless to say funding has been tight.
As far as the racing i had a blast, at the 3rd round I went to (gateway) Eric Smith busted on to the scene and battled with me for the rest of the season. He is an old veteran getting back into racing and he definately kept me honest. im glad i got to meet him and ride with him over the season as it made me a better racer. hes a good guy off the bike as well and im sure we will be banging bars in the future.
I had thought about daytona to cap off the season but since im buying a new truck now it dosent seem like i will be making that journey.
Thanks for everyone at the race weekends who lent a hand, stopped by to say hey, or had good advise for someone just getting into racing. all of it was much appreciated.
and to all of the nesba folks who read about my season and had the atta boys for me at the track on my "off" weekends. you guys rock
Also big thanks to the sponsors (see signature), anything that makes my life easier getting to the track or at the track is worth its weight in gold
well as sad as i am to see this season end, the next one will be right around the corner. its too bad i cant stay an AM and get a 600 for next year. that is going to be some top notch NESBA racing
See some of you people at the CCS Banquet, and the others hopefully at the big NESBA bash
