My 2009 Season/Daytona report..

Just got back from Daytona, so the season is officially done. I didn't do so well at reporting on my progress this year, but I'm generally done with bikes after every weekend until the next event; running a full season will do that, at least for me. This weekend is no different (well, except for I'll be done with bikes for oh, say, 4 months or so), so I'll keep it short and sweet:

CCS Midwest GT Lights AM Champion
CCS Midwest Lightweight Superbike AM Champion
CCS Midwest Lightweight GP AM Champion
CCS Midwest Thunderbike AM Champion
CCS Midwest Supertwins AM Champion

CCS Midwest 2nd place Overall

BHF AM Ltwt GP Champ
BHF AM GT Lights Champ

AMA RRNGC National Novice Thunderbike Champion

CCS National GT Lights AM Champion
CCS National Lightweight Superbike AM Champion
CCS National Lightweight GP AM Champion
CCS National Lightweight F40 Champion (Stole this one; never ran a regional race all year, too bad, so sad)

The new S2R 1000 had serious legs @ Daytona; it just ran away from the field. The speedo is still on the bike and reads to 160; it was buried on the front straight on Sunday (with the tailwind). I know it's not accurate, but it's pretty freaking impressive nonetheless.

All in all, more than I could have ever hoped for this year. Huge shout to all who helped me, including Geoff and Greg Mellinger, Dave Moon, Dan Johnsen, and everyone else @ MCC (TeamMCC.com), Matt Carr and everyone @ Ducati Indianapolis, Mark Sutton @ DucShop, Dustin Boyd @ CyclePath Racing, Pirelli, Dainese, Ferodo, my fellow racers/competitors (especially Hernan Martinez, Kevin Uttech, Jay Smith, Joel Spalding, Ray Hofman, Kevin Van Engen, and Jim and Ben Probst of Probst Brothers Racing), NESBA and STT (for teaching me how to ride well & fast), all the CCS Staff, and all the track personnel and corner workers who work so hard for us. Last but not least, my wife Nancy was the absolute bomb all year.

I know these are just AM Championships, but they taught me more than I can describe, and I'm happier than a pig in shit and really looking forward to my racing future. See you all soon.

So that ought to do it. Sorry I've been such a stranger all season, but like I said...
