Talking New track day at BHF

October 14th Blackhawk Farms is holding their own track day. Limited riders per group, free lunch, DVD and fun. $165 on-line registration. $175 the day of the event. I know the track management and Motovid who are putting this on. These folks will run a top notch event with all the safety precautions to be confident. Should be a good day. I already signed up.
This is a great opportuntiy to enjoy our addiction without having to drive to Indiana. Heck it's a Friday so you can still do Putnam with NESBA SAT/SUN.

I did the one they had on 9/14 and will be there 10/14 as well.

Some info for you all, they will enforce the wired/tied sidestand rule, if it is not completely removed.

There will be multiple camera bikes out in all sessions. They will complie all this video and make an event DVD which will be mailed to you after the event. They will also be glad to go over footage with you and offer advice between sessions. You will be followed and on camera a minimum of 2 laps, expect a whole lot more though. MD Racicing will be there for tire support/other tech support. Lunch is provided. We had some excellent Subs made by Cindy last time. Very good.

There were ZERO red flags. Two off track excusions on checkered flag laps, and the Ambulance never turned a wheel. The only action the med crews got was for me. I needed Ibuprofen for a bad wisdom tooth.

The Track coaches are not out there to do anything but observe and offer advice. They will pull you for unsafe actions, etc. but you can pass them at will, as long as passing is within your group's rules.

The 6 foot passing rule is enforced in all groups. Not 1 foot, not 5 feet. 6 feet or more.

The last one was a whole lot of fun, can't wait for the next!

Thanks! I was riding (blue half-nekkid R6 above) but they were taken with my camera by some other people with us. We had about 10 riders in differnt groups come down, I rode Intermediate. The track did seem a bit slick early on in the morning, and since I lowsided in the first session the last morning I was out I took it a little easier. Once the tires warmed up, the day was perfect! Best weather you could ask for at an October trackday.

Thanks again for the Pics Spud, it was nice riding with you again. You are right, the track was greasy in the morning, I did a fastest lap ever for myself in the second session, but followed with locking the front going into T1 and never totally regained confidence 100% for the day, even though I never put it down, the sliding of the front on a slick track combined with me knowing I was doing my 6th trackday on that set of tires was enough to keep me from going any more than 7/10. I still had a blast and can't wait to do it again. Could not ask for a better October Trackday.
