STKR's Videos from Blackhawk on 5/20/09

I finally got all of the video uploaded to YouTube, so here they are. Thanks to YouTube's time limits, I had to split 3 of the videos into two parts.

Enjoy

For Video-1, parts 1/2, I tried to do a higher quality upload so those with a slow connection might be hurting a bit. Each file is about 190-MB. The raw video is about 3-GB per 15 minute session, but looks awesome on the big screen.

Video-1, Part-1

Video-1, Part-2

Video-2 (Only One Part)

The next ones are split and uploaded at a lower quality to save some time.

All Aboard! A Blackhawk Farms Train Ride :

Video-3, Part-1 (Train Ride)

Video-3, Part-2 (Train Ride)

Last session of the day. I was tired and screwing up left/right. Time to dial it back a notch or three.

Video-4, Part-1

Video-4, Part-2

Okay...that's all I got.

I could use a bit more power on the straights, but it corners just fine

I sat on some pure evil yesterday. A 2009 GSXR-1000, and a GSXR-600. Good thing I can't afford either one The tank is shaped so different, and just feels SOOO much easier to hang off of.

One of these days I'll pick up a newer track wh0re

Bro, since we are now brothers by Navy, I'll comment. I watched your vids, and I was thinking the ENTIRE time, "imagine how fast this guy would be on a new bike!" You looked great, if you ever want to take the yellow hornet for a spin if we are at the same track, say the word.

Oh great! Now I'm being tempted by pure evil.

I know the power it has. I used to have a '03 Hayabusa that I sold to feed my track addiction. She got to stretch her legs at Road America a few times. The little 600 is a sweet track bike though now that I got the suspension worked out.

I might just take you up on the offer one day though. I promise I'll be gentle with your bike. At least until I'm out of view

nice vids and props to you for riding an 11 year old GSXR vs all the new stuff out there and running strong. I like the old style stuff from the mid to late 90s.

One of these days, I'm going to take that inside line on the carousel and at the bus stop. I just don't want to screw anybody else's day up if I go in too hot. My mind is still stuck in Intermediate group when I should be more trusting of the other rider's abilities when in the Advanced group.

LESS trust is required on the inside of the other rider.... of course, you can't screw up at that point though... or you take them out too.

I watched all of your videos, and your single biggest problem was passing. FWIW, your bike pulls away from mine. We just need to work more on setting your passes up, you backed out of or didn't spool up into QUITE a few passes. If they give you 6 feet, TAKE IT!

Maybe we could work on it at the next one. It'll be in July though since I'm on vacation most of June.

Thanks for the feedback though. I watch my own videos and tell myself the same thing. I could have passed there, or there, or there, or..... :

Gage distance and setup the person in front of you. Or just drop back a few feet and get a run on them. You'll have no problem in Advance in no time soon.

Looking good.

Thanks for the votes of confidence.

I have done the drop back and drive method and it works well, but then you get the guys with dam liter bikes that just pull away further. BUT, that's where the advantage of a lighter bike and good brakes comes in handy going in

As I said earlier...I just don't want to be the cause of someone's bad day, so I tend to just err on the side of caution/safety and remember that it is just a track day.

That's about the time I get passed on the inside by Wink or Hix and then I'm just trying to keep up as I watch/learn
