Money problems now? Don't come out on the 12th because you are asking for more money problems than you can even imagine.

Find any staff member or control rider. Ask as many questions as you can.

I think after it's all said and done, a typical track weekend overall cost is roughly averaged out to be $700.

With that said, you can do it on a budget, a new rider will probably only need a fairly new set of rubber, and entrance fee.

Dayuuum $700? Don't scare the guy. :P

A newer rider can probably use his current tires if in Novice or Beginner. Or even use Takeoffs which are cheap + entrance fees. So possibly $200 or less This is for 1 day and not a 2 day trackday weekend.

a weekend shouldnt cost you 700, least not unless youre planning on burnign a set of tires... adn you gotta be fast to do that

figure 320 (+- 20)or so for entrance for both days
50 got gas for the bike alone
50 for transit gas
50 for food

so about 500 and since tires should last more than a weekend(unless youre really fast) you can spread that cost out

Im waiting on approval to share the code from my source as I dont want to get anyone in trouble.

BTW, Ill be there, riding

From my understanding, this particular event is sponsored by Engelhart. You may want to contact them directly at Engelhart, contact info would be at http://www.engelhart.com, ask for Shawn. I believe the codes are only for their customers however, but you can ask Shawn. He may have some left.

700...yeah i can see it being that much but like i said...no money for me so no riding....BUT heres the thing, and see if you can help me here to

(1) I need track boots...

currently i have the A*'s recon waterproof boots (more touring than anything)

im looking to get either the Alpinestars S-MX Plus or the Sidi vertigos...about $300 there...

(2) I need a suit...teknic violator or something under $1000 that has the armor already...i hear you can rent one from the venders, but i have a thing in my mind that is kinda against that...if i did i would have to wear a undersuit and prolly some more under armor just to keep the Kooties away.. lol

(3)I need tires...i have plenty for street use but i've read that i need 5/8 or more total tread for the track or i cant pass tech...thats $350 at least

(4)I need brakes...front rear and fluid change...all which will be a winter project but i'd have to have done before the track day...$120

(5)I THink i need plugs and a tune up...for some reason there is alot of popping and stuff at low speed 0% throttle...$plugs cheap...tune up idk...shop price

soo yeah thats not including gas, travel, and track fee

it can add up

1) i'm sure DanO from DGY can hook you up with some discounts

2) i always wear underarmor, even under my own suit. it's so much easier to get in and out of it. there are good suits for $399 or $499 out there (celtic suit at sportbiketrackgear.com is $499 and comes with a helmet and a good integrated back protector)

3) $259 for pilot powers 2ct at sportbiketracktime.com

4) you can get a set of brake pads for as little as $30-$40 (DP brakes, EBC) and a bottle of fluid for around $7

5) can't say anything to that.

so, your math is wrong in more than one instance...

$165 for the day at the track (or whatever the track rate is)
$75 day for tires ($150 for a GREAT set of take-offs. (2-6 days depending on riding style))

Gear - Borrow the gear to see if you like it, or it is a waste of time/money for you

Gas - Less than 10 gals gas for the day on the track
Gas - Getting there (ride share with friends, lowers the costs)

My average used to be $3-500 per weekend riding on race slicks
