Post Blackhawk Farms 8/12/09

I had a great time myself, always nice to be at a racetrack!

My first session started a bit rough since I was on a new to me bike that I had never ridden before. I was all over the track, put it in neutral twice into turns, was overall slow and sloppy.

Second session was much better, smother, more comfy on the bike but still not perfect. After second session I had TSE set the bike up for me which helped both in reality and mentally for myself since I then knew the bike was right.

Third and fourth sessions were awesome for me, fast, mostly smooth and consistent with some knee dragging. The bike started to feel comfortable and I started to really trust the tires I was on (Pirelli Dragons). I wish I could have stared the day feeling this good about the bike and my riding.

The fifth session was my last, I was tired and decided to skip the rest of them as I was making stupid errors and just didn't have the strength and concentration to go out again.

My pictures from the day are at the link below. Most shot during the last two sessions of the afternoon, I think these are from both I groups and some from A, not sure if there is much from N but please feel free to look through them. Some non track shots are at the end of the gallery.

This guy was pitted next to Shelly, Demo and I.

This dude is going around the outside on the carousel.

These guys were pitted on the other side of us, Bruce and ???

Demo gets a bump to I and them gets embarrassed about it.

Mike? the CR who was run into. He rode in my group and was very helpful! Thanks to him and all the other CR's helping!

My special thanks to Shawn for getting me out on track again!

I'm glad to hear you had fun!! Smart thing to stop riding when you notice you're making mistakes. it's a lot less to lose $20 bucks for not running a session, then to fix broken bike or broken bones.

pics look great, but you get a big Boooooooo for not taking a single pic of me!!! jk

Sorry that there's no shots of you but I didn't even meet you until late afternoon yesterday, I think. I do think I got some from ACC a couple weeks back of you. Did you see those?

This is you, right?

Nice man - That 3rd pic of the cat round the outside is funny as you can see the "passee" looking at him as he goes by and not concentrating on his line

Great pics Troy

Thanks again for the call on Tuesday and the heads up And then trailering me up there!! Think I gotta work on getting a trailer now...lol

Great day too...couldn't ask for a better day, great people, great CR's and wonderful weather!!

I was impressed how smoothly it went for having 4 groups, there were some crashes but I don't think it was any more than normal....and even though all 4 groups were full I never had a clusterfuck problem...which is great (soon I hope)

Thanks to Trevor for towing me around and trying to get me faster...I will twist that throttle more.....one day

And Sarah...thanks for coming out....hope your nieces had fun!! I saw them waiving and was like uh yeah...I better not take my hands off the handlebars... They were so cute once they got over their shyness and wanted to sit on my bike and try my helmet on!!

I only shot a few pics

It was good to come out and see you guys! My nieces had a blast and LOVED sitting on your bike I think the middle one will be riding one day - I told her we will get her started with dirt

Hopefully the next time I'm at a track, I'll be riding!!!!

Nick, you were flyin' bro! I know I've got some work to do to get back on my game, with all the injuries and way too much time off the bike, but I never expected to see a stock SV coming around me on the outside into T1!! That was awesome, Bro Good times, for sure.

Now that my new bike is finally broken in, I can't wait to start tearin' off all that street stuff and turn it into a proper race bike .... mmmm, race bike

HAd a great time as usual. I think I got quicker after working on some stuff, but no lap timer to confirm it.

Nick, thanks for working with me and showing me what kind of corner speed an SV can really carry.

1237 shots that covered only 2 1/2 sessions, and I don't even know what bike you have. Stop by and say hello next time and I'll try to get some. I'm usually with Shelly, or G2G, and Cheyenne.

But thanks for posting the photos.

I had an absolute blast at Blackhawk Farms. Its was my 1st time in South Beloit but what a sweet track with winding curves that really flowed. Shelly was railing through the "carousel" looking fast & smooth. It was nice to see Dennis & Mattoo again

Even though I didn't camp with her the night before, Supergirl was superawesome & threw my bike in her enclosed trailer & got it up there for me. She was also my CR & gave me more helpful feedback than I've gotten from my 3 other coaches. Thanks again for letting me borrow your back protector. & Jason, thanks for the additional clearance & the 411 on the Chicago Performance rear Pit Bull stand hook up Oh... & moving my bike around in the gravel, I really struggled with parking.

All in all, an amazing day. I feel like my head/upper body positioning is almost there although I'm sure it'll be a long process before I don't have to focus so much on it & just do it. Tea, I can't thank you enough for all the help...I'm still high off of all the fun I had yesterday & dinner with the CR's was a perfect way to unwind...mmm...carbs
& dinner with the crew was awesome & delicious @ Anna Maria's. I'm loving my leftovers tonight

I would love the opportunity to ride that track again one more time before the season is over.
