Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy Part 3 Finally Ready To Go!

Original Article Here: http://www.myremoteradio.com/blog/mo...ly-ready-to-go

The Three Cornetto Flavours Trilogy has been a long awaited and long loved trilogy for many fans world wide. The first two films in the trilogy, Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, are flipping amazing movies directed by Edgar Wright of Spaced and Scott Pilgrim fame. The films star Nick Frost and Simon Pegg and are co-scripted by them as well. Their movies are funny as hell and extremely well made. I coined a phrase back in 2006 calling these types of films “Serious Spoofs” – meaning the movie is spoofing / copying elements from a genre however the film can be completely standing by themselves without the need of the movie knowledge they are spoofing. Needless, this is a skill in itself to make these types of films. They are poignant, expertly made and awesome to watch.

In short, their movies kick 7 shades of ass.

Deadline broke this news today with the announcement of the third film is finally being written and it’s called The World’s End. Here is the story for The World’s End.

20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hell bent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their home town and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub, The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.

Shaun dealt with the zombie genre, Fuzz handled the action genre (arguably the early to mid 1990s action genre). End will be dealing with apocalyptic / end of the world genre. HELL YEAH!

Each film in the trilogy is connected to a Cornetto ice cream flavour – both of the films released to date feature scenes in which one of the main characters purchases a Cornetto of the appropriate flavour. Shaun of the Deadfeatures a red strawberry Cornetto, Hot Fuzz includes a blue Classic flavour, and The World’s End is due to feature a green mint chocolate chip ice-cream. The use of the three flavours/colours of Cornetto is a reference to Krzysztof Kieślowski’s Three Colours film trilogy, which if you haven’t watched them yet, please do, those movies are amazing.
