Groupon - New Theater in Wheaton

I think this moved into the place that used to be Linen's and Things, which was a theater back in the '90s. There is a groupon for $5 movie tickets. I just bought 5.

Seems like a nice theater, and I really hate Hollywood Palms.

I went with some friends to see Brave in Dolby 3D last night.

Seating was good, service was excellent, sound was awesome, 3D was very impressive.

A couple negs:

They use Dolby 3D (I don't know of any other theater in the area that does), which rendered my personal Real D glasses useless. Though even with their cheap (reused) plastic 3D glasses, the 3D on this screen was really nicely done.

The screen size seems small compared to the theater size. But then, I'm used to the RPX theater at the Regal 17 Cantera. It was a sharp picture though.

It's reserved seating, which, IMHO is a plus if you order your tickets early enough to get the seats you want. But, you need to do it at the box office since their page does not yet support Groupons.

I'm glad I bought 5 of these Groupons, I'm absolutely wanting to go again. This theater kills Hollywood Blvd/Palms (which got the idea from this theater company in TX)

Edit to Add: I only had a bit of a friends food, but everyone said the food was great as well. Let's see if they can hold up to these high standards a year from now.

Really like the theater, food not bad, screen good ( not great ) sound excellent.

Really like the reserved seating thing.

Went last week and my take is pretty similar.

EXCELLENT service, good seating, good picture quality (non-3D), and pretty good sound quality.

My food was just mediocre though (carnitas tacos). My only other quip was that there wasn't very good sound isolation between theatres. We had alot of bass bleed-through from the film next to us. Not sure if that's the case for the other theaters within this location, or just got unlucky.
