Custom exhaust shops ???

Hey guys,

Wanted to know if you know of any good custom exhaust shops where I can have an exhaust pipe fabricated for my R1. I have a carbon fiber Scorpion Street Extreme slip on but just don't like the pipe that it came with and the location of the muffler so I'm looking for a shop where I can have a pipe made that will put the muffler in my desired location.

Any help is appreciated and thanks.

Where do you want to move it to?

I think you are going to have a hard time finding someone. Muffler shops don't stock thinwalled stainless that is used for bikes. Car stuff is a lot thicker and made of steel....meaning it's going to rust as soon as you put it on the bike.

Plus, the cost to have then bent/flaired/fitted etc....you could go buy another pipe for that.

I didn't like the angle of the pipe and how it positions the muffler, I actually have 2 different slip-ons that both use a different stype exhaust piping so I may be able to maybe take those 2 and fab something using those bends, etc...and make it into one that I like, then I can just weld them up and I would still be using the thin walled stainless steel piping that motorcycles use then...

Appreciate your input and thanks for a quick reply.

Thanks Mac11, I will let you know, Hammond IN. isn't a problem, I actually go jetskiing there quite a bit during summer, one of my friends has a boat at Hammond marina.

I'm checking with Scorpion first because it actually turns out that they have sent me the wrong pipe, they sent me one from an older style exhaust which explains why it doesn't look all that great. If they can't replace it, then I'll be in touch with you.

thanks.

Just an idea, if it's not available, maybe there is a reason? Possible melted body work, burns to the rider, ect. Or sell what you have and get what you need if it's made. This exhaust could look awesome, or crap. Unfortunately, most times they are done, they look like crap. Like Jerry's Snot Rocket.

Remember Jerry, I still have that gi.

you can buy pre-bent stainless mandrel bends and have someone piece one together for you.

What gauge are most Motorcycle exhausts 16? 18?

my parents used to have their boat there before they cleaned it out to make the casino bigger. They moved out to New Buffalo, MI for that summer, liked it so much they bought a slip.

The people in hammond can be fun if you are on a good pier but there isn't jack shit around for food & supplies.

If your friend lives in your neighborhood New Buffalo would be a haul. Like an extra ~40 miles.
