Race gas in the western burbs..

Anyone know a location where they sell it? I'm in Villa Park; I need some 100 or preferably 110 octane unleaded. Gonna get FrankenDuc started today (hopefully).

Thanks in advance, because I know you guys will set me up.

doesn't the citgo in Bensenville on Irving park just west of the airport have Racegas? I belive we used to go there back in the days... also the Citgo on Lake east of Garry in Bloomingdale and the Speedway ( not sure might also be Citgo) in Schaumburg on Higgins and Plum Grove Rd.

I'm off. I'll check the Rump Ranger first, it's closest and it came up in another forum when I did a quick search.

Thanks guys.

It's been awhile since I've been there, but the Delta Sonic on Odgen in Downers used to sell it too.

Mission accomplished. Citgo on Lake out in Roselle (Bloomingdale?).

Many Citgos carry it apparently, although most of them only do so seasonally. Rump Ranger does not cater to the RickyRacers.

Thanks Dudes!

Just so you know....motorcycle race fuels aren't high octane.

They are still typically 89/90 octane. They are just oxygenated is where the power is at and where the cost is at.....and they don't have a bunch of crap in them when they are blended also.

Yes I do. Already discussed it with him, but I'm not looking for more power, but rather higher octane. FrankenDuc's compression is in the 12:1 range, which is pretty high for a 2 valve, air cooled, single plug motor, and detonation would really bogue my high.

Just an FYI - the Citgo in Bensenville already mentioned here has the absolute best price on 100. I have several friends with 03/04 Cobras, CTS-V, etc that all run 100. Even the guys from out here in Oswego and Yorkville drive out to there to fill up. Most places at in the 6$/gal range where Bensenville is $4.something/gal. They also keep it year round, but just got a fresh fill in the other day I was told.

went to delta sunday to put a few gallons in a can, compare what the pump charged versus whats in the can i got shorted about a half gallon, there is no state sticker on that pump verifying accuracy like the others, what dicks!

gas cans are hardly an accurate measure, they expand and contract and those markings on the side are merely reference

i think its law that the pump be certified but i could be wrong on that since its race gas... but being a motorvehicle fuel it would be subject to those taxes and whatnot wouldnt it?

i been using the same can for a couple years and this is the first time the amount bought did not line up with the gallon marks on the plastic can, not by a little bit either
