what is this part?

I noticed this thing makes noise when the key is on. You can see a small part tucked in there that pivots back and forth. What the hell is it? I never heard it before until i was putting the bike away this morning. I could swear its never made any nose with just the key on. Its on my 06 R6

Should it be making noise with just the key on, not running? I just want to make sure everything is normal.

Rut rohhhh. Sounds like something isnt right. This thing just keeps on cycling and doesnt stop. I did some research and it sounds like a gear is stripped o or something.

Not needed. Remove. Then google how to over-ride the dash light or just order the part from graves.

No FI light on. But i may have caught it before i rode with the problem. I noticed when i was putting the bike away earlier today. I turned the key on and heard this noise that wouldnt stop. I put the kickstand down and saw a part inside that rubber pouch that kept pivoting back and forth for like 2-3 min. I didnt have time to look at it so i just parked the bike. I got a vid ill post up when im on a computer. Ive got a jardine slip on but its never had this problem. Is it possibly fixable the way it is or do i have to buy something aftermarket before this thing quits on me?

No i wasnt worried about that. I didnt realize the butterfly valve is removed with the aftermarket exhaust that was added to the bike before I bought it. I was worried about the servo motor burning out and an expensive replacement. Theres got to be a reason why I havent gotten a FI yet. Im wondering if there is already some kind of wiring inside that servo box, done by the previous owner. Ive read some home made servo buddies that guys are making to keep a fault light from coming on. At least I know what im dealing with now. Appreciate the help dude!

Thanks for the info man. I saw some home made ones guys are making with a resistor and capacitor. I wonder if its basically the same thing.
