I just signed up for a one day class with Scott Kelby which will be in Rosemont - April 7th.

Light It. Shoot It. Retouch It. LIVE!
Scott Kelby, awarding winning author of "The Digital Photography Book" and Editor of Photoshop User magazine, brings one of his all-time most popular Online classes to life in this amazing day where you learn it all; the lighting, the shooting, and the retouching, all live as it happens.
You'll see everything unfold from scratch in each session, with different lighting set-ups and looks, as Scott starts with an empty stage, and then puts together the lighting for a live portrait shoot.

You're right there as he takes you through the entire shoot, tweaking the lighting and working with the models, then he takes those very same images into Photoshop where he shares his very latest portrait retouching techniques, so you can see exactly how it's all done from start to finish.

Lighting & Retouching for Headshots
10:00 to 11:15 A.M
You'll see three different ways to shoot close up headshots and beauty style or glamour headshots, all using just one or two lights (the key to this day is using simple, proven, repeatable lighting set-ups that work every time). Then you'll learn the secrets of how to retouch this type of shot, including how to create amazing eyes, luscious lips, and perfect skin.

Dramatic light and Retouching Techniques
11:30 to 12:30 P.M
You'll learn how easy it is to create a dramatic look to your lighting, and how to retouch these types of images. You'll learn simple one light, and two light set-ups, and how just changing a few little details makes a big difference. Plus, you'll learn how to vary this set-up for a totally different look in just 60-seconds.

Lunch Break
12:30 to 1:30 P.M

Edgy Light & High Contrast Post Processing
1:30 to 2:30 P.M
Here you're going to learn one of the hottest lighting set-ups out there, used for everything from Album covers to sports portraits to commercial shots, and it has it's own trademark look, and it's own special retouching effects. You'll see the trick for making this an easily repeatable look you can use in the studio or on location. It's a look client's love, and you'll see how to deliver the lighting and the retouching right on the money, every time.

Lighting & Retouching for Fashion and Glamour
2:45 to 3:45 P.M
You'll learn great, simple, can't miss lighting set-ups that really flatter your fashion and glamour subjects, and then you'll learn the latest Photoshop portrait retouching techniques that will take your look over the top.

Compositing: Lighting and Photoshop Techniques
4:00 to 5:00 P.M
We wrap up the day showing you how to shoot on a simple, solid background, with a consistent lighting set-up, and then how to remove your subject from that background and composite them onto a completely different background in Photoshop, and do it in a way that really makes them look like they were really there. You'll learn the pro's secrets for making tough selections, the tricks to quickly hide any edges, and how to post process the photo so make the lighting and tone match up perfectly every time. This is where a lot of portrait photography is going, and you'll learn exactly how it's all done from the lighting, to the shooting, to the post.
