Missed call poll.

If you missed a call, and the caller did not leave a message, do you call them back anyway?

I hate talking on the phone, and have warned my family, if you don’t leave a message, I will not call you back. On the flip side, if I call you and do not leave a message, don’t bother calling me, because it wasn’t important.

I’m interested in how the rest of you feel about this.

Ken.

I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin', and hook up with them later!!

I said this in another thread, but my VM says "This is Alison, I can't take your call; hang up and send me a text." If they need me to call back, they'll either be really lame and leave a VM or they'll send the text. Otherwise, I assume it's not important and I don't call back.

Likewise, if I do not leave a VM, I do not expect a call back.

I don't even answer the phone if I don't know the number.

Then, if they don't leave a message, then it must not be important.

Its just a stupid phone. Don't worry about it!

Thats retarded. So they should hang up and make another call and pound out a message on a tiny keyboard instead of talking into your voicemail? When they're already in your voicemail?

If I was going to invite someone to something and I heard that VM message, they would no longer be getting an invite

If texting came before actual phones we would be talking about how cool we are because we can talk to each other on our badass phones instead of texting. I got a text from an old friend yesterday saying "happy birthday" and I called him back and said if you really meant it you would have called, asshole.

Texting is great, allows me to get the message without interupting other things, and allows me to respond at my convience... Almost ...GASP.... like an internet forum

The only time I'll call someone back if they don't leave a message is if it's one of my sisters or my dad but typically they leave messages. I only check my voicemail if I don't recognize a number that called so if my family leaves a message I just call back before checking it. They all know this so I hate it when they leave me messages.

No, they don't have to do anything. But chances of me listening to their VM are slim to none. I can see the missed call; dialing into my VM is a waste of time.

No Message, No callback. Even for family and friends.

If no message is left, I'm assuming it was a call to chat with no point, If someone has a reason to call, they should leave a message when they do. Often, I'm not in the mood to take calls, and will ignore or even turn off the phone, so ppl should leave a message if they want ot talk with me. I don't text much, maybe once or twice a month, and prefer to get VM or Email rather than texts.

I have a buddy who will permanently block your Number if you call even Once and don't leave a message. While that's a bit extreme for me, it reflects how I feel about calling and not leaving a message. I will block or ignore numbers that call repeatedly and don't leave a message. There is one number now who has called every day for a week and not left a message. Even though I know what organization it is, I will not call them back.

Craig

Can't stand when someone calls and doesn't leave a message. I hate talking on the phone to begin with, when I do, I want to be well prepped and get to the damn point. No message = no talking, nuff said . This is why I love texting so much, I can respond when I have the freaking time and can choose to ignore BS that will fill up my busy day, it is win win. I will be even more pissed if I respond to a call without a message and find out the person wanted to talk about BS the entire time . This has happened to me a few times, and since then, I do not respond without a VM . As a type I see there were a couple of casualties on my BB today, one day they will understand ChiefBD .

VM is the only thing I hate more than talking on the phone. I generally let mine fill up so I don't have to deal with it. If a friend calls I just call them back. If the leave a message I usually call them back w/o listening to it.

I will leave vm is I'm not sure if the person has me in their contacts list, or if just need to leave them info. (for people without text)

I have a friend that will call my house not get me and leave a message, and then do the same on my cell. It's the same message Hi it's xxx, call me when you get a chance. And she has text messaging on her phone. Drives me crazy. She says she was raised that it's rude to NOT leave some kind of message, so it's 2nd nature for her. lol
