Would you use a groupon on a date?

Just curious how many of you would use a groupon on a date? I got that Ginos East one that was posted here and I was to take this girl out for pizza. Does it make you look like a cheap ass if you're trying to save money? Or if the groupon is worth $20 do you spend well over that?

I absolutely would. First date is a little questionable because you really should take her somewhere that she likes/impress her, but after that, fuck it. I wouldn't want to be with someone that would question that. If you find a groupon for a nice place that would work for the first date, then yes, I would use it.

As long as you don't act cheap and strong arm her into going to this venue just b/c you have the coupon, you should be fine. Being conservative with your money is acceptable and could be admirable, being a tightass is not. You look in the mirror and decide which one you are being.

Good Luck.

I'm pretty sure I've already made a good first impression. Took her out for Thai yesterday which was a good choice since she's a vegetarian and there's a lot of options. I've only known her for a week or so, but she's pretty cool and trying to save money for herself as it is. I doubt she'd think anything of it I used the groupon. Just curious what you guys thought.

If she is a huge pizza fan, find somewhere small and quiet, with gourmet pies, unusual toppings, or totally authentic taste, somewhere she's probably never tried. It shows thoughtfulness, fun, and adventure.

If she's not the world's biggest pizza fan, take her somewhere she'll enjoy.

I guess I might be forgetting what dating is like, but this is the simplest approach if the point is to spend time together. But I guess I might be missing the point that you only went out once before and you guys are still playing games.

Anyways, good luck.

Just buy a couple of little ceasars pizzas and some 2 buck chuck, I'm sure this classy dame will love it and be all over your jock by halfway through the second bottle(and her second bag of crazy sticks).

Would you use a groupon on a date?

I don't see what the problem is using a coupon on a date. The point of the date is to get to know each other and how much you spend shouldn't matter. Plus, the first few dates kind of set the tone for the relationship and if you take her out to expensive places or drop a lot of money on her in the beginning she might expect that all the time.

Use the coupon but write something fun on the walls to commemorate your date. She'll remember what you write over what you paid.

Plus, if she is offended or put off by the coupon it might be a sign to stay away. Lol.

I'm not looking for a future. Just someone to spend some time with. She's leaving for Central America in January anyway. So she's just my type.

you said she's trying to save her money too, so groupons and that stuff should be no problem. sure. splurge every once in a while, but definitely no harm in trying to save money and have a good time at the same time

+1 to what Mopar said, first date hell no!!

i wouldn't question a "cheap" dinner on a first date. if there's no money, there's no money. sharing a jimmy jones sandwich arranged romantically would totally do it, but a groupon on a first date.... i'd remember i left an iron or an oven on at home and run away quickly

so, since you said you took her out to Thai, go for it :-)
