How much would you pay...

...per person, for two people to empty the contents of a 3rd-floor one-bedroom apartment and load it into a truck?

What about 4 people?

And where would you go about finding these folks?

I voted for $50 per 4 guys. It also depends on how much big stuff you have. But either way, $200 to move you out is a good price IMO.

Personally, I believe in fair compensation, even for friends, when they help me out. I would say $100ea for two people, and drinks! I think 4 people is too many, and there would be some confusion/standing around. Some friends incessantly refuse, but I absolutely insist!

Where to find them? Here! I am sure there are a few of us willing to help!

I'm to cheap to pay people to move my shit that's why I get friends to help but IF I had to pay strangers, it would only be 2 people and $75 at most per

I usually pony up for some pizza & booze for friends

I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin', and hook up with them later!!

If I were to help a good friend, which I have, I wouldn't expect any money. Just some beer & pizza......... Unless you have a 4 bedroom, 2-3 story house with lots of heavy furniture , then I'd tell you to pay someone because I would be busy that day.

Last time I moved I paid 3 guys, $300 for 3 hours... of course that included truck rental, packing supplies (blankets, tie downs... etc), and they were insured.

Dan's relocators out of Naperville. I got the impression that all 3 guys had done some time in the county jail... but they busted ass and I'd hire them again.

+1 even though I don't know you I would help out as well and I think a lot of other people on the board feel the same way. I always feel when I have a question or favor to ask, someone is there for me from this board and it's nice to be able to return the favor when possible

I hate moving...the only thing I hate more is moving friends/family. I would never ask for help and when we recently moved we hired professionals. I also had a 8.5 pregant wife to factor in.

The movers were excellent, but costly. THey wrapped everything in bubble wrap and four guys took the entire day and they were bustin ass.

Needless to say, it was WAY more than $100 a person.

I know Kim through racing. She is my friend, and a very sincere honest good friend she is. I know that if she had the opportunity she would return the favor. Maybe that Favor would be neglecting to give me a meatball flag during a race.

Whenever I've moved people, all I charged was beer and pizza -- according to my waistline, I've moved far too many people!

Seriously, I've always considered this a test of true friendship - you know who your real friends are when moving day comes along.

I've moved far too often to play the 'friend card', LOL! I still owe Grover and Ernie big-time dinner from my last move (pick any non-CCS Saturday night, guys)!

This time, the 'unload' will be in another state. I'm trying to figure out whether it would be cheaper to use a van line or DIY with a couple of strong backs and a truck.
