Which car and why?

I'm going sometime this week to test drive all 3 cars....I like the looks of all 3 of these cars, now I want to know the good and the bad of the cars.....and if you've owned one, what was your experience with the car?

Now.....Discuss!!

You f*cked up your poll. Maybe you should just stick to dancing on them.

"includes 10 used-car dealers or auto repair shops, 11 liquor stores and bars--two of which advertise lingerie fashion shows and a third billed as a "gentlemen's club"--three cut-rate motels and one trailer park. The squat, brick municipal building is next to a currency exchange and a few steps from an adult video store. The bars open at 10 a.m. and close at 6:30 a.m."

Toyota will last forever, and the Celica gets the best gas mileage.

Don't get the Pontiac, whatever you do. My sister has one (the G6), and based on your choices up in your poll, it looks like you're looking for something between sporty/fun and practical/not your SUV. Well, the G6 feels like a Cavalier. Oh, and Pontiacs will give you nothing but problems.

My wife currently Has a jetta and it is an excellent vehicle, she has also had a celica which was also and excellent vehicle. Both have gotten excellent gas mileage and had very minimal repair costs. Basicly just regular maint. no complaints on either.

the G6 is a pontiac and therefore garbage. It will rattle in no time and constantly be in the shop for stuiped shit.

Yeah, I have a hook up on cars, so I'm limited to the kind of cars, besides a Toyota (it's a toyota dealership) the Jetta only has 30k miles on it though, and I've always heard good things about them.

Unless it's a 1.8T Jetta (or VR6) - get the Toyota. Base model Jettas can't get out of their own way and handle for crap.

The Toyota is a great car in my opinion but doesn't have enough power until you're up there in the RPMs, fun sporty ride though. I'd be willing to wager that the G6 is going to drop like a rock in resale value; the G6 replaced the Grand Am which for a handful of years held onto its value the worst out of any American car. Therefore, I would say the Jetta, despite it being older, just as long as it was well maintained, nothing beats German engineering.

DO NOT get the G6, you will have problems and the value of the car will drop like a rock. Toyota will last you the longest and will hold the value. I have a VW so that's my vote - also hold their value.

Jetta 1.8T or VR6 is a bad choice if you are trying to save on gas as those 2 models use more and you have to use Premium. Stick with the 2.0L Jetta if you get one.

throw in my two cents here.

Pontiac - now before everybody jumps off there rocker and says its the worst car of the group, consider a few things. A it's new, B, it's a GM product, you already have a GM product, and you don't complain about it, so I ahve to assume your not terrible upset with the lower build quality.

comparing it to the other options

Toyota - great car, sporty, fun to drive, nice interior, however, very small, back seat is about as useful as a backseat in a corvette. It's package shelf, and a small one at that.

Volkswagon - german car, means expensive to fix. The last 4 years Volkswagon's quality has suffered, I don't know why, and when they do break, they are alot of money to fix. If it's the 2.0L it's a very slow and boring car, if it's the 1.8T or vr6, then like others ahve said your not getting acomplishing enough to switch (my opinion)

I would consider a few others cars in your list as well... How about a corolla? or a honda civic / accord? maybe even a camry? all of these cars in the 4 cyl. model will do just fine gas wise and still be big enough to haul a few people around when needed.

I think she's looking for something in the sporty/fun category. I love my Corolla, but it's in the "grocery getter" category as far as fun goes.

I really like the 04'-present civic ex coupes....They actually had one, and sold it the day I went to take a look at it!!

I was rather upset!!! However my choices are limited, and I want to buy a car in the next couple of weeks as I really need to cut down on the amt of money I am spending on gas. I have no complaints on my blazer, I haven't had one problem with it, it's just that I don't really NEED a suv and gas is killing my fun money!!!!
