Original Lineup

If you had a chance to see one of the bands live with all original members in their prime who would it be.

Drugs and Booze included.

Bananarama. In their prime they were hot. At least that's how I remember it.

EDIT: holy crap they are NOT hot. Thanks Google Images. Damn you Childhood Memories.

Zep is my all time fav band but just knowing Plant could never hit those notes again makes me say The Clash

The point is they are all alive and in good voice. I got the idea because VH1 had The Song Remains the Same on all weekend.

I watched it twice.

In their prime, the Who was THE greatest live band ever. The clash was 'so so' as a band (no doubt their shows were furious).

The Beatles were more about their lyrics and their 'sound' so their live show, while impressive, weren't really anything to write about.

With Keith Moon behind the kit though, you just NEVER KNEW what the f)&k was gonna happen, and of course, Townshend all hopped up and flailing around avoiding Daltrey's microphone whipping would be a cool thing to see. I saw them once with Kenny Jones. Bah, it Sucked Ass.

Now, AC/DC with Bon Scott? THAT would be a show worth taking the wayback machine for!

Otherwise, Led Zeppelin would be a VERY close second with Bonzo on the kit!

God I tripped to that flick so many times - "This is Tomorrow tomorrow tomorrow"

Now, best sounding "live" band? I have to go with Steely Dan (and named after a Didlo no less) as they have CD Quality Sound with every show and don't even think about the lip sync thing as they are "performers first, a band second"

I'll still take Page with the Violin bow thank you!

The first three given choices are all solid, imo. Don't care for the other two givens. I had to go with The Beatles while acknowledging that in their heyday, both The Who and Led Zeppelin's live shows would have ripped your face off with sheer sonic shards of white hot fury. The Beatles just hold a special place for me in my life.
