Those Thruxtons are wicked cool mate - I vote that - I almost pulled the trigger on one back in my SV days

Trumpet FTW!

I like the Shiver but it looks much faster than it is. The Triumph is no rocketship but since it's a retro it's acceptable.

EDIT: Nevermind, the Shiver is actually not bad in terms of power, one of the initial press releases slated it as having 70ish HP, now it's bumped up to 95hp. I still vote Triumph though.

i love the triumph but the aprilia is a better bike. for the same price, I'd get the aprilia. the guzzi is a bargain bin parts bike and the kawi is the ugliest fucking thing since the multistrada.

If you want something different, get the Aprilia or Guzzi. The Aprilia would be the "performance" bike of the pack. It has 95HP at the crank.

I would look at the Aprilia or Thruxton given those choices, but they are totally different types of bikes. If I want performance and ride aggressivly, I'd get the Aprilia. Plus, it's a Vtwin!!!!

If I just want to cruise about town, then the Thruxton is the ticket.

Definetely the Aprilia. But it all depends on what you're trying to accomplish on the street. I like the Aprilia because it's a beautiful bike and great for hooliganism as well. Yeah the Thruxton is classicaly beautiful but when you're out on an SR run or something are you going to rail with it? Versys is fooking ugly (IMO) and the Guzzi has that gawdawful bananna seat. Do as Rick says, take the bike home that talks to you.

Once the votes are in, the decision is final. The others will be asked to leave the area immediately . That Aprilia is a bad ass naked bike. I don't normally fancy naked bikes, but that bike and the Bking are bad ass.

FWIW, the Nasty Kaw is essentially the same thing as the Ninja 650, I think that bike fits the theme here better and isn't a bad bike. That being said, it really is a beginner bike and while a decent bike, it will undoubtedly get boring as shite in about 3 days.

I think the Triumph might get boring to ride as well but at least you'll be rolling in style and will get a lot of attention. And think of the fun you'll have accessorizing by buying neato halfie helmets, Ton- Up patches, checkered stickers and kicking the crap out of the Mods on their Vespas.

those grisos are fuckin nice. they're huge though, you sat on one yet? What a tank. If I'm going to sign on for a big overweight under powered guzzi turd I'd get an older v11 or similar and try to mimic the ghezzi and brian stuff.

The V11 Sport and MGS/01 are the only two Guzzis I'd ever consider:

IMO, for $9K the Aprilia seems like a bargin. Their SXV 550 is $9.5K, granted it's a race bike, but still.

Actually, you can get a used 07 Tuono for about the same price if you know where to look. http://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/s...d.php?t=143137 http://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/s...d.php?t=142930

I know a guy with a MGS/01. he takes it to the track every so often. Looks even better in person. I lust after that Guzzi.

Back on topic, Everyone knows I'm partial to eurotrash bikes. I'd say the Ape, and then the Triumph. That would be completely reversed if the Triumph was the Speed Triple though.
As far as Euro bikes go, Triumph is one of the best to deal with as far as parts, warranty stuff and so on. Thats not internet based speculation either. I worked at a part counter last summer. My next bike, if not another Katoom, will be a Triumph. Take a look at the Speed triple. It is more comfy than the Thruxton (i've ridden both) and the motor in that thing is an absolute gem. Take a look at this torque curve!

Looks AWESOME with the Arrow exhaust

Rob that speed triple motor is a tad tame though, I did the demo day at MCC and while it was torquey and smooth it didn't wow me.
