Who's a Polak?

I know there was few Poles on here along with me, but it appears there has been a surge of new Polish blood on here, so out of sheer curiousity post up/check the poll if you're Polish(born there) or just have Polish Heritage and if you speak it.

Story from work:
After speaking Czech on the phone at work, the clerk says"What language was that?"
I reply "Czech".
She says "Wow, I didn't know you were Russian!"

Now on with the poll......

Pet Peeve of mine is when people of Polish decent refer to themselves as Polak. But then again I hate when any culture refers to themselves negativley .

I am 1st generation American. My family is from Poland but I was born here. I dropped out of Polish school in 3rd grade but I am still able to speak and read it enough to get by. I am teaching my daughter Polish and learning it all over again with her. I plan to send her to Polish school and unfortunately for her, she will not be allowed to drop out I think cultural identity is important.

WoW, I'm sorry you feel that way. Look into your history and I think you will find there are many Polish people that have done great things that should make you proud of your heritage.
