Are you left or right-handed?

Is your dominant hand your left or right?

Do you: write right/throw right, write left/throw left, write right/throw left (very rare), write left/throw right, or completely 100% ambidextrous (uh huh, sure)?

You might be good with either hand, but if your childrens'/mom's/dog's/_____ life depended on your writing or throwing something the best you can, which option fits best?

Queue the un-funny jagging jokes.......... now.

Everything either way, but write left handed. Bat, Golf, Wakeboard, WaterSki, Basketball, Frisbee, Pool, Racquetball, Tennis, etc... all both right and left.

Writing.... sucks right handed. Throwing a ball, yeah, I throw farther right handed, even though I write LEFT handed.

I'm asking because my 2 year old son writes and throws righty but insists on playing his (toy) guitar lefty. I know this isn't all that rare, but it just had me wondering.

True, unlearned cross-dominance (ambidextrous) is less than 5% of population. It just sounds amazing to me that it's beating true lefty so far because I can't do much but hold a fork with my left as well as my right. Though i can't put a watch on my left wrist or button my left buttons with my right hand nearly as well as I can with my left.

That's right. I suck at sports equally with either hand.

Actually, I play tennis left-handed and raquetball right-handed. A conscious decision so not as to screw up my respective game.

But I can flip the bird equally well with either hand. Comes in handy when driving.

write lefty, do most other hand things ambidextrous (hammer, scissors, drill, s crewdriver, lift, etc) but guitar is righty, so is golf and baseball and throwing. I'm also typically right foot dominant but having played soccer for years when i was younger I can do nearly as well with either in a lot of stuff.

i can also write right and throw left, but i suck at both. so I'd say maybe 80% ambidextrous, but that's not an option. i picked write left, throw right.

You don't have an option for me, I guess I'm just a little confused:
Write- left
basketball - left
baseball - left
golf - right
tennis - left
soccer - right
pistol/rifle - right (although left eye might be slightly more dominant, I have no coodination to shoot with the left hand)
hammer - left
wrenches/ratchets - right
screwdriver - both
drill - right
guitar - right
frisbee - right
pool - left
wrist watch goes on the left

the golf and bat thing is amazing for me. I cannot swing a bat to save my soal right handed. I can almoast swing the golf club lefty, but it is very awkward. Every one tells me its the same swing, but its impossible to go either way.

The poll is for the activities of writing and/or throwing, which hand is your dominiant?

If you say, "I can't throw/write with X hand", then you're not ambidextrous right off the bat.

I thought about that. I know a guy that was born without a left hand. He says he feels like he'd be left handed if he had one, so everything is that much harder because the hand he does have isn't naturally his dominant hand.

Let me CLSBify this.

When you grab a sharpie to sign a fan's chest, with which hand do you feel most comfortable signing?

When you take the panties off your girl and throw them into the corner of the room, with which hand can you throw said panties farther (assuming the room is large enough to not limit the distance of the throw).

There should be no ambiguity now.

Talk about a kick in the balls...that would suck.

I can only throw and write right handed. I'm right food dominent, but left eye oddly enough. It's difficult when I shoot firearm or with the camera. With the Nikon, my nose bumps the LCD and pushes buttons on the back panel because most SLR cameras are assumed right eye.
