Is it alright for a man to hit a woman?

Simple poll, just as the title states but let me clarify. Is it ever alright for a man to strike a woman out of anger? I'm not talking about defending your family from a knife wielding crack-head or some 7 foot Olympic power lifter but an average sized woman. Whether she's slapping you, talking back, making fun of your small limp cock, whatever, is it alright to respond with a physical strike?

I would of voted for the last one of maybe, simply because of if this was a situation of you being attacked and it was done in some sort of self defense. That would be the only time I would say its ok.

If I hit a man I fully expect him to hit me back. I think that if she starts it then he has every right to defend himself. I don't agree with a guy every throwing the first punch and I don't agree with a guy beating repeatedly on the girl if she just threw one punch.

+1

If I thought I was tough enough to start it, let's see if I'm tough enough to finish it. If I get my ass handed to me maybe I won't think I'm so tough next time.

Maybe depending on certain circumstances (please list):

-She's bigger than you.
-She gave you the clap.
-She sells your Xbox for anything other than sexxxxy lingerie.
-You go down, and find out she's not a she.
-You're Drama and a girl is beating you up. All girls are bigger than you, so this is ok.

No, no matter what. A) It's never right B) There are very rare occasions that can't be resolved by just walking away or turning the other cheek. C) Women are the weaker sex and no matter what the reason the man is always going to be at fault - the court system will screw you

So she is attacking me, clawing me with her nails, grabbing shit and hitting me with it and if all I did was enough to get away its still not right? I was never talking about "beating" her, just enough to escape and get away.

I am a firm believer of keep your hands to yourself. Don't hit anyone unless you intend to engage in a fight. Like others have said, different circumstances will evoke a different response. I would never go on an offensive and hit any women, but I will defend myself.

I would say no, but if the woman starts it, then she deserves to get the shit knocked out of her. I hit a big biker guy once, and when he went to hit me back some of the guys started to step in. I stopped them. I started the fight and I was going to finish it. He hit me so hard that he knocked me out of the bar and onto the sidewalk. I deserved it, I had hit him first, he had a right to defend himself. So I'm going with option 3.

I don't ride, I cook!

That one was self defense, he hit the gas as I was exiting the vehicle, he's lucky I didn't tear open his larynx and eat his soul.

Fuck yeah it's OK. I'm a little guy and I need to defend myself. If a chick is going to step up and hit like a man, she better be able to take it like a man. I will give women all the respect they deserve but when they cross the line by causing me physical harm, it's on. Fuck all you Captain Saveahoes. I am not talking about beating her to a pulp. That is wrong whether it is a man or woman. I am talking about enough so that she gets a clue that her behavior will not be tolerated.

No

No offence, but what the frick is wrong with you for even asking? Don't hit girls.

There is nothing firm, nothing balanced, nothing durable in all the universe. Nothing remains in its original state, each day, each hour, each moment, there is change. Change is the essence of life. Embrace change as you do life. To fight change is to live in the past.
