Vegas or Hawaii??

If you wanted to attend a technical training class, which would be your preference?? Keep in mind you have to sell this cost to your boss! Let me know your reasons and how you would sell it to your boss or if there was any marketing plan that could sway your decision (such as free dinner, casino night, etc)

If you chose other please list which place you would like ...

Vegas is open 24/7 so you will not miss much sitting in class. Plus the cost will probably be much lower. Now if you have a wife and you want to give her a great vacation, Hawaii is the way to go as the company will pick up a good chunk of the cost.

Just my 2 cents,
Greg

If you're going to be there long enough to justify the long flights, I'd go with HI. If it's a shorter trip, then Vegas.

It all depends on how you like to spend your time while traveling. If you're in hard party mode, then Vegas is the easy answer.

No question, The Islands - Vegas if fun to get in get it on and get out - Hawaii is just a little piece of heaven right here on earth

hawaii ftw!!

not sure how you'd sell it to him..as food, gas etc, cost of living is higher.

at least you can say that you wouldn't have any of the bad temptations that you would in Vegas! lol

Yeah I am on the Hawaii plan as well, I just don't know how well I can sell the idea on cost!!! It's about double that of Vegas when taking into consideration travel and computer lab rentals.

The class is 5 days long

Vegas if you want to party and be to exhausted to go to your meetings the next day.

Hawaii if you want to relax, chill at the beach and get plenty of rest.

Hawaii all the way. If the choice is one or another, just say in Hawaii you won't be stinking drunk, hanging with hookers, and gambling 24/7. Rather a little corporate golf, some sun and pool time will put you in a frame of mind that will allow you to get something out of the meetings.

Honolulu is on Oahu, which is the most populated island. It has more resorts with what you'll need for a proper classroom setting & a bigger party scene.

Maui & Kuwaii are more scenic & more laid back, but still big enough to have resorts. Less to do, but more unique. Much more of that "small tropical island" feel. Also, better golf & diving in Maui if that comes into play.

I'd go for Oahu. windward side (east) is more tropical than the western side of the island. They've got a bus system that'll bring you pretty much anywhere on that island, so you can travel into honolulu without a car with no problem, just takes an hour or 2 on the bus. Plus, that's the island with 'the stairway to heaven'...cool hiking experience. and, since honolulu is west of the mountains, it gets a lot warmer feeling than the eastern side, but you'll randomly get rain with no clouds in the sky from the wind blowing it over the mountains. Lots to do on Oahu!

The main island is a lot drier, and maui is the 'best' but most expensive (where all the celebs like to buy their sweet houses)

Oh shoot, Saddle road on the Big Island on a Bike FTMFW!!! IMO it is better than the Dragon. Plus Kona Country club North and South courses are very nice.

Island to island...I know you can take a ferry, which takes a while..they used to have (when my dad lived there at least) pretty cheap airfare every now and then from island to island, but I think one of the airlines that competed and caused the 'price wars' went out of business...

Typically under $100 from island to island but you might see some fares under $50 depending on when you fly. Check out Go! Airlines.

Vegas allows for more open roads and high speeds. While scenic, the roads in Hawaii are generally slower. Also, very tough to rent a sport bike, mostly Harleys on the islands. Fortunately, I was albe to research this topic in person on Kauai this past January. http://www.kauaimotorcycle.com/grand_canyon.htm

Kauai - where else can you visit the grand canyon and 1 hour later, be on a beach?
