Art opinions

I'm thinking about getting this for my media room. In 36 x 24 Canvas, stretched. You can get it with custom background colors, for the sake of the poll I'll leave it red as shown on the site that sells it. What do you think?

for sale here

You should see if they have other prints available along the same theme. One Darth Vader painting might be a little out of place, but maybe some complimenting colors with R2-D2 or Chubaca might be good addition.

the fight club one and the warriors one are also quite nice. The mr. blonde one is killer.

keep in mind this is for my basement media room, not my living room.

Chris, see if you can have it printed on acoustically neutral fabric and have it double as a sound absorber to help tame slap echo!

There is a company that makes acoustic treatments like that and they'll print whatever you want on them. This is not one of those companies. I considered making some acoustic treatments for the room but that's a pretty big undertaking, and clearing it by the boss is not easy.

Well, technically, it doesn't have to be AT. Whatever canvas they use will act like a drum and still absorb, but only low frequency. AT would allow it to be broadband.

And yeah, that one company is what I was thinking of. I spoke to him about his guitar prints for my music room.

What are your thoughts on doing AT material wrapped frames filled with OC703, worth it? Seems like a simple enough task, but I wonder if the results will be worth having these odd fabric frames on my walls.

That's basically what I'm doing with my front wall. The truth is, it takes quite a bit to make a large improvement in the room. You'd get a bigger change if you did some superchunks with a cloth frame, and/or a couple panels at each reflection point. A couple panels just won't really be noticed unless they are at key points.

I'm still building up my frames and I have some OC703. I can spot you a few panels for a week and you can see if it does anything for you.

With all the stuff I have on the walls in my room, it makes a difference, but it's going to take quite a bit more before it makes a big difference.

Go poke at the walls at AMC or whatever your theater of choice is, you'll get an idea of how treated a proper theater is. It's really eye opening.

yes, i realize a proper theater has a ton of treatments. I didnt want to dedicate my space to that degree though. I'm just not sure I'll get great returns with the level of treatments I'm willing to do. making it kind of a bust.

I agree. It does take quite a bit. A couple panels just won't do it.

VERY COOL. I like the DV but thought you'd do a Solo/Lea piece for sure! Did I miss a link to where these are sold?

Dont waste your money to close your room off with ATs.

Then i was thinking of a maybe a couple euro edition film posters for the right side from this place: http://www.polishposter.com/Merchant...egory_Code=USA

Did you ever think of getting a cheapo 42"panel Tv, hanging it on the wall and running the "Id fist her" .gif?

What color are you thinking for the background? The black/red as shown is good. Rock it!

Something to keep in mind if you are considering the Star Wars prints...unless they are approved by Lucas Arts, expect that web page to get a C&D from the law guys ASAP. Lucas doesn't even allow THX logos to be sold in the US. I had to get one for my home theater made outside the US and shipped in to me.

That site is not new, it's been around for quite some time. Either they're licensed to do it or flying under the radar, either way I dont care.
