What brand tires do you roll with and why?

Like the title says, which tires and why? Is it because of a certain characteristic of that tire, is it because you heard they are decent tires, or what?

I'm curious about those Shinkos. They are cheap compared to all the other tires but you get what you pay for.

my only experience with shinkos was with their drag tire. it was flat and wide and hooked up well but i dont know about their street tire.

Pirelli on the track is where it's at!
Why? Because they are predictable far longer than anyone should ride them.

For the street, I love me some Pilot Powers, although I used to run Stones on the street. Powers heat up easily, have a WIDE temp range and last a long, long time.

Michelin. They've always been more predictable FOR ME than any of the Pirellis I've tried on the track. And Pilot Powers and 2CTs are just the shiznit on the street.
Haven't tried Dunlops or Bridgestones on a sportbike. I've been hearing really, really good things about the new Dunlop NTEC though.

Michelin makes a pretty good supermoto slick, second only to the UK Dunlops. The Metzler SuMo slicks suck.

I've currently got Michelin MX tires too, but I couldn't say anything relevant about whether they're any good or not.

Agreed. Pirelli on the track. Run em till they fall apart. Literally.
Street, I used to run the Battalax when it came out. Yeah, it's been a while since I bought street tires.

Though I'd also run Pilot Powers the set we rode for 2 years was great! haha

FWIW, I wouldn't put my worst enemy on those. I have seen many failures, including cracking and blistering, plus they are heavy as hell.

BT-002rs and BT-003rs. I have been running bridgestones for many of years and I love them. They are $100 a set cheaper than pirellis and work just as well. Right now i am running Metzlers/Pirellis and like them as much as the Bstones but they are alot more money.

Ran Michelins for a long time...tried Pirellis and Bridgestones.
My track bike is setup specifically for Bridgestones so I am not going to bother to switch to anything else for that as they work very well and are cheaper than the others.
For street the Stones and Pirellis wore out too quick for my tastes even though I really enjoyed their grip and planted feeling. I'm happy with Power 2ct's but will look towards the Road 2ct's for even more mileage without loosing much grip.

BT002RS here..

Hey Steve! I found out why your tires say Racing, and mine say street.. yours are just BT002 which is the DOT race tire, and the RS is the street tire.

I really want to try the BT003RS street tire now.

If i was going to run something else, it'd be PP or PP2CT

Right now I'm on the Bridgestone Battleax BT016R. Mainly because it came on the bike. But I do like the feel that they have and they have gotten really good reviews in all the magazines I've read with them.
