2WheelSpeed (Byron) 2011 schedule

The 2WheelSpeed.com Drag racing series schedule for 2011 has been announced:
May 22-23
June 18-19
July 16-17
July 30-31
September 24-25

I have a line on a UJM Suzuki 4 to do the E.T. Bracket class on and plan to make at least 3 of these events as well as various weeknights at Great Lakes Dragaway. Word is that there will be a similar series at GLD this season, but that remains to be seen.
Getting back on the strip is something I've been wanting to do for some time now and it will be a great diversion to the other types of riding I plan to do this year...AHRMA VMX & trials, AMA VMD, District 17 GP's and some drag racing...should be a busy but fun season!
See you at the strip...stop by and bench race between rounds!

"Dirt is for racing on...Asphalt is for getting there" OR "Flat trackers go in deeper and come out harder... OR (With apologies to General MaCarthur) "Old motorcycle racers never die, they just slip off the groove and fade into the dust!

If you want to anger a conservative, tell him a lie. To anger a liberal all one must do is tell the truth!

July 16th is also the pig roast open to everyone to attend. We ask everyone to bring a dish to pass or bag of chips something simple if your riding up to watch or race.

Hmmmmm...Word is that the Byron dragstrip is moving from being an IHRA member track to NHRA sanctioned track. This will make some minor changes to the rules and requirements. Watch their website and stay up to date on what changes this will bring if you plan to do any 2WheelSpeed events. I have heard that in the ET classes everyone will be eligible to gain points towards running the Nationals in Indy. No exclusions because of having a box.
