2WheelSpeed opener & 'Da Grove.

First 2wheelSpeed meet of the year at Byron in 2 weeks on the 21st & 22nd. Anyone planning to go? Compete?
Also...The Grove is open and been struggling with weather but Tuesdays are street tires test & tune with trophy racing (bikes welcome) and Thursdays remain Slicks & Bikes night. Anyone planning on some weeknights at the strip?

There ain't no place on earth better to perfect the holeshot technique for any type of racing and dial in the carbs on any bike than the strip!

"Dirt is for racing on...Asphalt is for getting there" OR "Flat trackers go in deeper and come out harder... OR (With apologies to General MaCarthur) "Old motorcycle racers never die, they just slip off the groove and fade into the dust!

If you want to anger a conservative, tell him a lie. To anger a liberal all one must do is tell the truth!

I'm sure I'll race one of the classes not sure which one yet. I might have someone else ride in the 8.90 class.

I'll be there one of the 2 days unless it's a washout. I'd like to stop by your pit & say hello... Anything distinguishing I can look for?

I rode up to Byron yesterday...very good show, stiff competition...very competitive even in the E.T. class. I also saw a great display of sportsmanship. One of the racers had a fuse blow just before it was his turn in the water box. The rider slated to run him pulled out while someone found a fuse rather than taking a bye and not giving the other guy a chance to run. They let two pairs of riders go around and race and when they got fuse replaced the guy who waited had something go wrong so the guy with the blown fuse returned the favor...I got sidetracked and didn't get to see who won when they finally did race...but, it's super cool that they would rather race than win with a bye.

Bob,
I've spotted you on the GS Resource and Dragbike discussion forums and such and I thought about the possibility of running in to you sometime. I plan to get up there to Byron again, If not on Sunday at the June 18-19 event (Mods vs. Rockers leaves me a bit frazzled on Sunday so I don't want to commit to anything until I know how I'm doing) maybe July with the Pig Roast. I'll make a point of sending a PM...it would be my pleasure to meet you.

:werd: I know a few people that ride in the 10.50 class and everyone welcomed me in with open arms. I did run that class once last year near the end of the season and wouldn't mind doing it again, I just have to find the time otherwise I stick to Test&tune nights when I can make it to Byron or GLD.
