Must read if you race at US41

Apparently there was a big event being held there last weekend. The promotors had to pay an extra $1600 to have an ambulance and crew there.
This is what they got and this is what sits at the end of the track when you race.
They defended themselves by saying that they have a medical bag in another truck and an emt always there. (I guess it's some young kid that works the timeslip shack and is a certified emt)

If you think you are going to get medical treatment if you crash, think again.

There was also an incident that happened recently

A couple of weeks ago, at a race where Kenny and Denny sent cars down in the rain until a 9.93 second car did a 540 spin and tagged the wall, according to witnesses, Denny pointed a gun at a racer (who had the nerve to ask about a rain-check) and his father and said "I will fucking kill you and your old man too."

The police were called. Denny fled the scene. The police interviewed the remaining staff and they confirmed the racer's story. Denny wouldn't answer his home or cell phone and couldn't be found.

I've been in contact with the county prosecutor multiple times. Can you say:

1) Criminal recklessness
2) Assault
3) Intimidation

Three different crimes. Unfortunately for Denny, I was there. The racer he threatened to kill was my friend. And I'm an attorney who knows the system.

Now Lynne can add fraud to the list of Denny's problems. But that's really the least of Kenny's problems compared to charges related to threatening multiple murders.

If anyone wants to verify what I say, just call the Newton County Prosecutor's office and ask for the investigator."

Now I have raced and attended various events at this track and it just seems like it's going downhill. I was always discusted with the bathrooms the last few years. There was always shit on the walls, floors, no soap or paper towels or toilet paper. Any porta poty in the midwest is cleaner than these damn things. IMO it kinda overall looks pretty trashy and I wonder what my money is going towards. I thought it was the medical staff and all, but I guess not.

I also lost respect for Denny when he said he was going to steal an event from one of the local guys who invented King of The Streets. All the dude cares about is lining his pockets.

Saw this on CTR last week, Denny sounds like a real douchebag.

Glad the MWM guy was alright.

I heard they had a bunch of drywall stored in the amberlamps before someone found out.

never been there, know the area. know too many people from the area. They are all a bunch of fucking drunk pieces of shit. You could burn down Indiana and I would take 10 ppl with me and leave. Let the rest fucking rot. This doesn't surprise me at all. None of it.

If you race there you should advise the sanctioning body. Almost all dragstrips are either NHRA or IHRA sanctioned. If this track is or claims to be affiliated with either they should be informed of these kind of violations.
Also...If you race there I'd highly recommend you find another track to race at. GLD isn't the best facility around...it's getting old and needs some work but at least it keeps it's safety requirements up. The same can be said of Byron which in my opinion is in better shape than GLD. I know as racers we're risk takers but they're supposed to be calculated risks...Supporting a facility that won't even live up to it's safety obligations is quite frankly, stupid and sad to say stupid racers end up being injured or worse.

Just sayin'...

"Dirt is for racing on...Asphalt is for getting there" OR "Flat trackers go in deeper and come out harder... OR (With apologies to General MaCarthur) "Old motorcycle racers never die, they just slip off the groove and fade into the dust!

I've raced there plenty of times. It's always been a joke over there but unlike 66 you can get massive amounts of passes for your money. I've been able to hot lap there.

Morocco Indiana = Hill Billy drag racing. I've raced the streets enough so I guess it's not much different.

It's no different at Great lakes on a weeknight or at Byron on a T&T day...unlimited runs for your money and for motorcycles at least, if it's not too crowded you could hot lap.
There's no excusing the track owner...That's actually the point of paying to go to a track/strip and run...to do it where it's legal and reasonably safe with safeguards in place in the event of a mishap.
I've never been to US 41 and chances are pretty slim after this thread that unless there are drastic changes I ever will. At least going to the Grove or Byron I know that the ambulance is equipped and there are at least EMT's on scene.
Road racers, flat trackers, MX and Hare Scrambles etc. guys woudn't put up with this disregard for their safety with an attiude on top of it. Drag racers shouldn't either. Not only is it unsafe but in the event of a mishap it could cause all manner of repercussion that could be detrimental to all kinds of racing.

Us41 doesnt have a sanction body...They are a outlaw track and don't have any type of insurance. The ppl who go there enjoy that style of racing and good for them. But ppl who don't know better should be advised to what they are getting into if they go there.
