I'm looking forward to being there at least one of the days. Those who have never been down a drag strip don't really know how much fun it really is. If you don't have another event that weekend, take your street bike or track bike to Byron and collect a few E.T. slips. It's surprising how much is going on during a run and how much you can learn that will enhance your road racing, dirt racing or track day riding skills.

T-speed...I'll be in touch soon.

"Dirt is for racing on...Asphalt is for getting there" OR "Flat trackers go in deeper and come out harder... OR (With apologies to General MaCarthur) "Old motorcycle racers never die, they just slip off the groove and fade into the dust!

I'm riding out on Sunday AM. Leaving the city about 10 AM and taking I 88 to Annie Glidden north to IL 64 (North Ave.) west to German Church road past the power plant and MX track to the intersection where IL 72 turns into town and the road goes to the strip. PM me if you want to meet up and ride in with me along that route...I plan to stop at the DeKalb Oasis for a quick pit stop...we could meet there around 11 AM.
My route back to the city will be as scenic as possble using IL 2 along the Rock River to US 20 and 20 in to the 20-47- 72 junction and either take 72 or the tollway (I 90) in. Anyone who'd be up for the ride with me would be welcome.

Wish I would have seen this a bit sooner. Looks like a nice ride.

No...I had just gotten back from a week away to Ohio on AMA Business and when no one spoke up to join me for the ride out to Byron, I opted at the last minute to be a homebody and hang out with the wife. I just couldn't muster up the energy to make that ride alone in the oppressive heat.
I apologize for not being more aggressive in contacting you. Been unbelieveably busy with AMA and other things. This weekend has me just as busy, but I'll give you a shout early next week and maybe we can do an evening up at 'Da Grove.
Unless you're out & about tomorrow and near Sycamore Speedway...Going to be with the Chicago Norton Owners at the Motorsport rally in the swap meet and enjoying the AHRMA vintage flat track in the afternoon. I'm easy to find, just ask for the AMA board guy.
