us 41

This was from about a week ago................

from the 41 web site :

TO ALL OF THE PATRONS AND GUESTS OF US 41 DRAGWAY

I am sorry for any inconvenience to all of you who had plans to spend any part of your weekend enjoying yourself at the drag strip. Papa Norm was my husband, and as most of you know he has passed away leaving me, his widow Jane Nevinger, as soul owner of US 41. With the help of my son, Derek, as asked by his dad, Papa Norm, the track was able to be kept open. Denny Rich was then hired as the track manager. It is my sincere wish that you all have enjoyed what the track has to offer you, and it is my wish that this could continue. Unfortunately, the track has been closed due to malicious imposition of Norman Nevinger the Third, which my husband, Norman Nevinger Jr. AKA Pappa Norm, would have fought to his last breath. There are also serious safety issues for my track manager was threatened with being physically attacked, and the safety of my employee's and patrons and guests are of the utmost importance to me.

There are numerous rumors flying about, and this letter is to clarify the truth. The track, as stated above, is owned by Jane Nevinger the widow of Norman Nevinger Jr.. This was and is the wish of Papa, and I have set out to fulfill my husbands wishes to the best of my ability. Those of you who knew Papa well know this is true. NOTHING that is transpiring at the track,at this time, has anything to do with me the legal owner.

Thanks to all of the folks who have come to the track for you have helped to make Papa Norm's hard work worth every one of the strenuous and labor intensive hours he spent there.
His goal was to make a place for your enjoyment and entertainment. I ask you to bear with me at this time that the track is being robbed and pillaged.

Sincerely,

Jane Nevinger Widow of Papa Norm

I was there Fri. when they closed the track due to their drama , then found out Sat. they were back open , so Sun. I went back , things there are very screwed up at this time , on Sun. NO track prep & only right lane for bikes due to someone(car) oiling the track in the left , the big timming lights(et,mph) at the end of the track were not working , 60ft on the right lane did not work and 330ft. in the left lane did not work . Going to byron maybe this Sun. just to spectate and see how things are run . The website from what I've heard is NOT right so if your going there call first .

man that sucks

Operating a motorcycle. So easy, even a caveman can do it. Knowing how to ride? Priceless.

I've heard 66 is not very bike friendly ? thats kinda kept me away from there , at 41 when things are going good (test&tune) you can get mega passes in if you wish and its close for me to get there . The web site I mentioned post #2 is for 41 , as for Byron I have never been there and have not heard any bad about the place , for the people that "have" been there (byron) what do you think ? also I'm just talkin test & tune , thanks for any feedback !

I have heard that 41 IS open this weekend 7/28-29

66 is fine with bikes, as long as you have a chain guard, snell helmet, and leathers and a tether if you plan on going 120+

Byron is the best place for bikes... Avg. day about 10-13 passes. Even more if you want to hot lap. Da grove is great as well but never went just to TnT day/night there just some events..

Could that message possibly be any more confusing? I don't have a clue who the hell she is talking about with all the goofy names. Sounds like drama.

+1 on Byron, but i realy dont like Da Grove. seems like the people at Da Grove do not want you there unless your a big bracket racer.
